OVH: Connectivity Quality (Kimsufi vs VPS)

Hi,

I was wondering if there is a difference in connectivity quality between a VPS and a Kimsufi server within the same data center, or if it's the same?

  • I would like to add to the question above.

What's the difference between the VPS "Essential" and the VLE-4? The VLE-4 seems superior in all aspects and is cheaper. Am I missing something?

Network quality depends on the network capabilities of the rack and room and place.

the KS-LE-1 with 1245 v2 designed for a few hundred average Mbps so they are on a Gbps port and sometimes IPv6 uncaped to 1/1 Gbps, in real usage speed very varying depending on the load of network capacity.

Models that earlier on base 1 Gbps (KS-LE-B, higher KS offers, Mystery) or 10 Gbps (Mystery lottery) are designed for that capacity so the bandwidth is usualy available to use over the day.

Can I assume that OVH's VPS are located in rooms with better network quality than those of Kimsufi?

No, it's random and most likely only relevant to the really old kimsufi servers. All newer ones are pretty similar when it comes to connectivity.
