Only registered companies or organizations can apply for an AFRINIC ASN. Individuals are not allowed. Also, the ASN must be used within the AFRINIC region or be linked to services or infrastructure in Africa.
Costs:
$400 one-time setup fee
$150 for the first 3 years ($50 per year)
Total: $550 initial payment
After that, it is $300 every 6 years.
