Mine also came online as well at the same time.

    I have noticed something... @hosthatch πŸ‘‹

Do you now only downstream via cognet in TYO8?
AS64073 upstreams via GSL but downstream we're via cognet (same for V6 except both ways... cognents a slight meme for me).

GSL is preferrable so let me know if this is something you're possibly able to tweak or if I would need to engage with my ISP.

@MaxTakeba said: Do you now only downstream via cognet in TYO8?

We do not have any transit with Cogent ourselves. If you can put in a ticket with MTRs on both ends, we can take a look, but I am guessing this is your ISP to send your traffic via Cogent.

    Thanked by 1MaxTakeba

Thanks, will raise it in the morning and drop a line to my ISP.

Got my flash sale Chicago storage VM today. 10 business days as promised. Great network as usual, and solid CPU performance for a storage VM.

I'm looking for something in Stockholm if anyone bought one too many - either the $29 for any period, or the $100/yr plan for 3 years with the doubled storage. Crypto only though.

  • Guys I'm also looking to transfer a 2T flash sale HK storage vm and a 4C16G HK compute vm, for anyone who missed the sale. DM for the deets!

Why not create a separate thread for service transfers? Makes it easy to track.

  • My Amsterdam storage is online!
YABS: Big iperf numbers. Decent fio for a storage server. Respectable geekbench score for some Xeon Gold cores.

I also pushed some data from my compute server over to the storage server via private networking using nfs share. Here are some stats if anyone is interested in real case usage, and not iperf benchmark numbers.

    • Mixed between mostly big files and some small files, 8 transfers thread:

    Elapsed time: 3m58.1s

    • Mostly small <10 MB files, 16 transfers threads: At one point the speed dropped to ~40 MiB/s but then it went up to 300+ MiB/s again. Maybe I got throttled for a minute there :D

@hosthatch thinking about the future, is there any roadmap of your services soon using the EPYC Turin platform? Maybe not for promotional VMs but for your regular priced ones?

I don't think we'll be doing Turin as it'll compete with our Milan offerings, but maybe Zen6 when it comes out though. We revamped multiple lines of services and made it into two "NVMe Compute and Storage"

However we will be adding some high frequency compute VMs soon (for gameservers and so on).

Extremely interested, I hope you will make a big announcement when this comes out! The current compute instances are decent for light game servers, but high frequency on the HostHatch infrastructure would be an immediate "GIMMIE."

    @PineappleM
Has it been stable for you. Mine was initially stable but last 3 week was having high IO issues and became unresponsive. Since this morning, it's unresponsive again due to high IO. It's been 4+ hours. The disk IO is at max.

Yes I'm seeing issues with write speeds to the storage disk today in Chicago. I've opened a ticket.
