    But yeah, agree about bias.

Can't imagine how Contabo operates from the centre of Europe.
Perhaps, if these are not Russian botnets, then no problem.

Contabo has no abuse department, abuses probably go to /dev/null

I believe no government ever cared about scriptkiddies, they only react to high-profile threats (like breach of government infrastructure).

EU sanctions are just a joke. They take cheap hosts and if the owners have some connection to Russia, they claim them to be a Russian state-managed company. This is, of course, not true at all. The reputation of the EU is going down very fast in the world due to such dumb action.

Top 16 in botnets. What to do if they do not understand?

It is not a secret that most DDOS attacks against Russia's state services and commercial banks involve IP addresses from the USA, EU, Brazil, and China. This does not mean that Russia needs to sanction the operators responsible for those IP addresses. At least, I have never heard of Russia imposing such sanctions. Cyber crime should be resolved by cooperation between state criminal systems. Unfortunately, this is impossible now because the state has been engaged in cyber warfare with each other.

But these attacks come from hacked devices. Here we have a conscious permission for attacks from the GRU / FSB.

Yeah and Russia's reputation is going way up right?

That's thick of you claiming something like that.

As long as Contabo spams and ddoses like crazy non-governmental structures, then there are no sanctions. Well, got it.

So, you're saying that the GRU and FSB aren't smart enough to hide their own IP addresses? I disagree.

I think botnets are mostly controlled by so-called hactivists, and for example in the case of Ukraine this is definitely state-sponsored and controlled activity.

However, the United States, Britain and other countries engaging in cyberwarfare against Russia may also sponsor and take part in such activity.

Accordingly, Russia could take retaliatory measures. Linking an ordinary hosting provider to such activity is simply stupid.

Yes, because we live on one world, on one planet. If someone loses reputation, others gain it. That is a known fact from the basic physics course.

Of course, theyโ€™re a bit stupid. Remember the Skripal poisoning in the UK? They gave their agents fake passports with the same serial numbersโ€ฆ How stupid do you have to be? And then poisoners even kept the receipts for taxi so they could get reimbursed later in Russia.

Here, they took the money, hired those guys, made attacks, and then reported to seniors.

    offtop />

I talked with a top Russian hacker who intentionally targets the West countries.

For ideological reasons, his software has a built-in safety feature - if itโ€™s opened outside the West, the malware deletes itself. He hacks hard, completely wipes out bank accounts.

And the FBI doesnโ€™t even care (it is another story).

I asked him if he ever thought about working for FSB. He said they tried to recruit him, but the job is boring and depressing.

Since the time of Ivan the Terrible, Russia has been portrayed in the West as a barbaric and stupid country. This is just propaganda.

The whole story of Litvinenko, Skripal and Navalny seems very suspicious and may not be created by the Russian secret services. I have no confidence in Western intelligence agencies in all these cases and others. What Western intelligence can do and how they act was explained by WikiLeaks and the stories of Assange and Snowden.

I am not defending the Russian secret service, I remind you that British secret services have official permissions from the Queen to kill. Just remember that.

What I can recommend is staying away from any secret services :)

Yes, I am born 2002 (which is public information from Estonian business registry), but I am not a scriptkiddy and I am glad that never was. And unfortunately for you, 22 > 18 and hence no, I am not even a "kid" from a legal standpoint.

Yours word also look as hate speech. Because i recall such "personal attack" from american to americans. This is show just low level of culture and is not nation specific.

I understand you, but 2-5-10 persons/individuals kids whatever they are does not represent the whole nation, and i am not talking specifically for russians, i mean in general...

Fair enough, and I would go as far as say that there are exclusions, but for some reason, statistically I encounter hate from russia (both IRL and online) more frequently.

I am not asking anyone to agree or disagree with my personal opinion, but I hope you understand my reasoning.
