Lightweight Monitoring Platform Based on CloudFlare

Today I found an interesting project called XUGOU on GitHub. It is a lightweight system monitoring platform based on CloudFlare, providing system monitoring and status page functions. I think it is a very practical project for mjj, if you don't want to use the free uptimerobot. Here is its English Readme.

Yes, it also provides similar monitoring features as nezha.

Is this suitable for non-mjj entities? Does it send few packets to the great Xi?

Probably because the internet is already centralised around one company enough, but Cloudflare offers many always-free services so in the spirit of LowEndTalk, milk a good offer until it's dry.

It all depends on whether or not you want to add to that centralisation.

You can choose to send to Xi or MAGA Trump :D

They are all great projects. But Uptimeflare cannot add monitoring sites in real time, and every time you add or remove a site, you have to redeploy it, so I gave up on it.

I felt that too, but in the same time which solution to DNS host all them domains without putting all the eggs in a same basket?

I know there are open-source and self-hostable DNS solutions, I just not having enough knowledge.

Looks like these two only have http uptime monitoring, where the OP's shared one have system monitoring too. Better or not, I don't think they are comparable.

I found that even a Hugo theme, has a few special lines that ping back to some .gov.cn :(

Okey, I will write a letter to the great Xi.

There's bunny.net and cloudns as well as your registrar. They may or may not be free to use depending on your usage.

20+ idler domains use case :(

Bunny.net has generously gave me 50 EUR in trial account but expired after a month which I'm not sure what to do with it in 1 month so. :D

Your registrar's DNS is usually free to use.

Most are with Porkbun, which is backed by CF.

I get the concern about centralization with CF, but let’s be real: for most small projects or low-budget setups discussed here, their infrastructure offers unmatched DDoS protection, CDN performance, and ease of use at zero cost. Decentralized alternatives often come with higher complexity, inconsistent performance, or hidden costs in time and resources. If you’re running a hobby site or a startup on a shoestring, Cloudflare’s free plan is a pragmatic choice, not a compromise of principles. When it’s about getting a site online reliably without breaking the bank, centralized or not, it’s hard to beat free and functional.

TBH their free plan offer is no match and that's why most find hard to leave.
