Largest vpn providers under pressure (dmca)
Largest vpn providers ordered to block pirated tv channels. Resisted for a vile, but eventually succumbed.

So, it begins. First major players and in finale - private providers. Dmca moguls continue onslaught.

To take this more clear and usually the same:
What we could expect from France? Nothing.
Let me understand this one. A French court thinks they have any power over American, Romanian, Dutch and Panamanian companies?
I HATE THE EU!!!
Fuck the EU for sure for sure.
Well, precedent can and will be used to bend another countries. Along with massive bribes.
I was hoping to find some useful links.. but most of those are already dead or looks/works like shit. What is this list?!
Ah yes, of course. Because all countries have same laws.
Reguards.
love europe
hate the eu!
That would be such a joke if it would be global.
Likely Baguette or EU only.
Exactly that, I love the easiness of the euro and traveling with just an ID card but damn the rest sucks so much ass.
well, euro (€) is a product of the EU(dSSR).
before the EU existed, this status must be restored!
the European Economic Community (EEC) and
the European Atomic Energy Community (EURATOM).
That's an excellent list of IPTV providers for those of us not living in France, and thus not affected by this judgement, which states that the VPN providers have been ordered:
to implement, at the latest within three days following notification of this decision, all measures necessary to prevent, until the date of the last match of the championship of the Premier League for the 2024/2025 season, currently set for May 25, 2025, access to the websites and IPTV services identified [below] as well as to the IPTV sites and services not yet identified on the date of this decision, from French territory, including in the overseas communities, departments and regions, and/or by their users based on a contract taken out in this territory,
It also appears to be an interim judgement as it only applies upto the May 25th 2025. Maybe they'll manage to extend it, but whether they can expand it to the rest of the EU remains to be seen
NB: this has absolutely nothing to do with the EU. It's a French court making judgements about what happens on French sovereign territory.
Meanwhile, Mullvad is still going strong.
All countries has corrupt officials which takes bribes. Dmca moguls heavily lobby (bribe) to push laws that they need. Those laws are set country by country but are similar.
Greed and corruption is universal.
Telegram also went strong until key people were taken, bent and fked deep into anus. Now they comply.
If mulvad will step on the wrong toe - the same will apply. Do not have illusions of safety and annonimity. It is dangerous.
Bribery can be (ab)used by both parties
Are you saying that someone opposing dmca crooks has more money?
Bandwidth was never free and I doubt they do it for free to please their inner pirate
I awe your positivity, but given how bad is going dns providers clash against worldwide “pirate” site blockades I fear the same for public vpn services.
Eventually they will be forced to comply.
I believe that, right now it only affects the "mainstream" VPN providers but it can extend to others.
it seems that this is only in France so it's alright for most ppl
Use your main account, vladimir.
Starts in one country, but spreads like a wildfire to other countries in years, if not months.
first learn to read and understand and then please use your brain.
Cry about it some more.
I find this funny, i.a. because a french court says they don't care about the superior eu court and also because a french court can dictate exactly nothing to a company outside of France.
At the end of the day this will be a business decision. If it makes sense in terms of $$ the VPN providers will comply, if not they'll basically say "fuck you, frog-eaters!", probably hiding behind technicalities like e.g. it's too burdensome a request to scan all their users and to at any point in time, find out their location, yada yada.
Besides, that french tour de force makes no sense anyway, because (a) TOR, and (b) tech nerds always find ways ...
Kids will cry on here all day about not being able to steal another persons creation but won’t invest any energy into creating themselves.
Omg... You're so right mr SirFoxy. I deeply care about billion dollar corporations being able to profit, not only off my subscription, but also off my data.
I get that you're used to dick sucking on LinkedIn, but nobody actually cares about it here.
Reguards.
Average Europoor opinion
Get your rage bait up. It used to be a little believable before.
