@NDTN @xTom any update on the GSL bandwidth mix?
They put GSL on for inbound and NTT outbound a few days back. It's reverted to PCCW inbound again.
If @xTom can find a way to use GSL inbound & outbound for USA and Europe connectivity and keep NTT for APAC I think that might be ideal. NTT's strong suite is within APAC not anywhere beyond. Doesn't help that they're constantly getting de-peered by other T1s like Cogent and Arelion.
@xTom Out of curiosity what might be stopping us from getting GSL?
And @elmorigs where are you connecting to/from that would benefit from GSL?
Private networking in LA has been stable so far.
@elmorigs
@borkedascii
GSL is still undergoing testing.
hi gc rep! just wonder if sg vps port 25 can be opened? if yes im planing to add some mail server on it. my existing mail account is hosted on some mail provider with yearly subscription, it would be great if i can save some money from mail thing.
We have all ports open by default. But please note that mass-mailing or spam is not allowed on our VPS.
@borkedascii connecting from Malaysia. Actually i find NTT unstable. CDN77 GSL seem much better and most importantly consistently stable.
Cool.. last time i build mail server is on aws, its pain in the ass..

Any updates on this?
I can still neither configure IPv4 rDNS nor IPv6 rDNS via the panel in DE and UK.
Looks like they can do it via a support ticket now (just got one done for UK).
Which IP ranges are you on now? Some IP ranges that less than /24 will need a manual setup by us.
UK: 96.9.214.0/23 and 2a0c:b840:2::/48
DE: 109.94.171.0/24 and 2a03:d9c2:100::/48
I'm in the same ranges in DE
How did you guys get the /48 IPv6 in DE? I have a GC BF2024-DE 2 server on /64 IPv6.
Do you think he also got /24 or /23 on his IPv4?!
He just provided (bigger) range his IP/IPs are within without publicly giving out his IP/IPs for privacy reasons.
Thanks for clarifying — that makes sense. I wasn't implying he owns the full /23 or /48, just curious how he ended up within a /48 block while my VPS got an IPv6 from a /64. Maybe the GC assigns different ranges based on request or setup. Just trying to understand if it's possible to get a /48 here too.
The VPS gets assigned a /64 out of a /48, but by default only a single IP address out of the assigned /64 is configured on the VPS (but you can use any number of IPv6 addresses out of the assigned /64).
Got it — that clears things up perfectly. I didn’t realize we could use more IPs from the /64 on our own. Appreciate your help!
Our techs confirmed that rDNS for these ranges can be configured by customers on Virtfusion already. Please check and follow this document: https://green.cloud/docs/greencloud-documents/faqs/how-to-set-reverse-dns-rdns-on-virtfusion/
Right, but only via ticket on SolusVM?
Is the plan to also allow rDNS configuration via SolusVM, migrate SolusVM customers to Virtfusion, or continue with the status quo?
Yes tickets for SolusVM now. Customers can migrate to Virtfusion with a $10 one-time fee, if available.
No free migration offer?
Whats the availability now?
DHCP is not yet fixed btw
@VirtFusion
Support keeps saying...
Ticket #958412
@NDTN it would be appreciated if you could clarify.
rDNS for IPv6 is never officially supported. Another reason to move to Virtfusion?
Charging a fee to move over to VirtFusion? what the actual f***?
(unless your staff has to move the data for you, I can't understand this fee)
This does not clarify why...
