I'm happy with DA Shared 5G UK and it's been running well over the past six months.

Someone def ate a flood over in SG this morning. Yesterday our upstream had a router crap itself twice, but it seems to be calm now. Bad timing, but it doesn't excuse things and SG is now a main focus to address.

We'll be provisioning another node to split off a few of the heavy SQL users that likely caused some of the SQL spikes. I'm still planning when i want to get an offload over there.

If you're not married to the IP your sites on and are open to migrating, drop a ticket next week and i'll get you pulled over to the new node and kick you a months credit.

We expect LUX cPanel to be migrated this weekend. Since we don't have to do any scary disk resizing, it'll be a completely painless migration. We expect it to be done by this weekend. I'll then pull the IP blocks out of LUX and we're off to the races :)

Is the migration of a node with the same location, in this case SG?

I was wondering how NameCrane's shared hosting compares to RackNerd's. Any feedback would be greatly appreciated.

I have RN cpanel reseller in both SG and US. The SG server is real crap. I moved all accounts from SG server to another provider as well as RN's US server. The US one performs well. I placed a cancellation order for SG reseller and it will get cancelled by October 2025. The plan is 120GB and I bought for a BF deal. In my opinion, the US performs better in case of both RN and NC.
I have DA reseller from Francisco in both SG and US. There too, the US performance is far better than SG.

    Thanked by 1The_Choice
  • Do they use the same DC? MyW SG server was running flawlessly.

  • Problem is not only in the SG server tho, i have UK one..

When was your last issue? We had a, I kid you not, school website get fa fairly major flood. Mike got it under control and I’m working on a much bigger ip block list to combat such things globally.

    Sorry, been a bumpy ride.

Thanks for taking the time to reply and provide your feedback. I agree that the SG DC isn’t very stable. I was on the USA DC with RN and didn’t have any issues. I switched to the SG DC (paying an extra $8) thinking it would improve overall performance, but I guess it was (or is) just hype about SG DCs. I think I’ll contact Dustin to see what he can do; otherwise, I’ll search for a better alternative.

If it's US location, you can choose either of any. Iam using RN cpanel and NC direct admin. Wordpress sites are running without much issues.

  • Which is the most stable Namecrane location?

  • FranciscoFrancisco Top Host, Host Rep, Veteran

Yeah, the nodes been absolutely cooking its CPU and our alerts weren't picking it up. Only once I started checking what Mhz they were bursting to and seeing it was at 500Mhz did we spot it.

I just did maintenance on all the SG servers. A BIOS update & enforced ECO mode to get it under control. We lost some peak performance, but at least it's not melting now (80C instead of 96C).

SG is the only location we use 7950X's on. We got water coolers and all that, but, it wasn't enough I guess.

    I'm hopeful.

    Adding some context:

    Adapter: PCI adapter
    Tctl: +96.0°C
    Tccd1: +91.0°C
    Tccd2: +92.9°C

    After:

    Adapter: PCI adapter
    Tctl: +77.4°C
    Tccd1: +66.4°C
    Tccd2: +66.4°C

96C w/ a water cooler, so, my thinking is 105W ECO mode wasn't working properly. Did the new BIOS and forced 65W for now and it seems happy (the after).

    Nope?

    Node is just dandy.

Hmmm...strange. Cant login to directadmin and website returns a 403. I opened a ticket (CRANE-11742) and got this reply.

"Our apologies for these disruptions in the service.

We are aware of the issue and already in process of mitigating it."

My guess is you got suspended for MySQL abuse.

I hit a half dozen people riding sql like a horse earlier. We can confirm and help you get to offloadsql.

I've never received a warning or any kind of notice. Not doing anything that intensive just a few small wordpress sites. I do need help getting back online.

Wordpress is a good source of terrible modules without any sql optimizing.

By all means ticket and we will sort you and get you an offload service. If the DB is small enough we will give it to you for free.

Ok, I added it to the ticket. If the account is indeed suspended for MySQL usage, I wish I had been informed in some way to avoid downtime. Hope to get this resolved soon

Sorry about that. Getting the node to not melt is priority in those cases. We've had people that we suspend for the same and only ticket 2 weeks later.

Hello can you enable AccelerateWP on Cloudlinux? It's a free add-on by Cloudlinux an alternative for WP Rocket.

    Thank you !

Open a ticket and I'll sort that :)

We've started to completely offload MySQL from shared nodes. Singapore DirectAdmin was completed ~5 minutes ago. So far we've done sg01.da & ny01.da, and have another 3 - 4 nodes marked for the same later in the week.

So far its been really good. We've not seen a single spike or blow out on ny01.da since we deployed it, and it was happening multiple times a day, sometimes throughout the mornings while i'd be sleeping, and @harambe slowly lost what little sanity he had left.

    Overall, very happy.
