No problem, I am here, because still waiting for lottery results of my orders.
Who has lottery from SYS-LE-3?
I opened a support ticket with OVH requesting a replacement for my NVMe. It was shown as Priority 5, and I’ve now been waiting for more than 3 hours.
You better set your expectations correctly with OVH for support. If you need business critical you probably need to opt that somewhere
Or pray they respond on time
Also, disk replacements are a hit or miss (mostly miss) with a terrible one being put out for replacement than what you have.
Just saying.
Randomly you do get shiny flashy new disks
Hearing what you said makes me feel a bit worried. Now I’m thinking about just closing the ticket and keeping the server as it is. I have an old OVH account, and responses there come quickly. I ordered the SYS-1 using a new account under my mother’s name, mainly to get it without a setup fee. I feel like their delayed response might be because it’s a new account.
That is why you use the API and not the support
you're being pretty needy for someone buying the deepest possible discount dedicated server. if you need extremely high up time or emotional engagement you've chosen the wrong company. if you want a pretty reliable machine with good support for a very low price then Kimsufi is great. if a machine fails, they usually repair it within an hour. they reently sent me a screenshot of the screen of a crashed machine before I noticed it had crashed. "I want a new NVMe for no real reason, also I filed a vague ticket instead of using the automated hardware replacement system" isn't a good test of anything.
Y'all shouldn't abuse the incident support's laziness. Hetzner always checks the SMART data and refuses replacement if there are no errors. OVH starts doing that shit too its just going to make things difficult for the rest of us. Stop being a kitten and run RAID 1.
I believe you mean raid 0 the only form of backup
Y'all take backups?
Backup?

RAID 1 is for weak people. Mentally strong people dont use raid or backup.
When you said KimSufi is good, did you mean that SoYouStart is not good?
I have a KimSufi server, and they set it up for me within 30 minutes twice, so their service seems good just like you said.
However, many people told me that SoYouStart or even Rise ECO servers are better than KimSufi.
I’ve seen some users on LET (LowEndTalk) say that those servers come with OVH support, which is more reliable.
They were not willing to replace my NVMe. Their response was as follows:
If I keep a backup using the Hetzner Storage Box, that should be fine, right?
Also, if I’m using RAID 1, even if one NVMe fails, it shouldn’t be a problem for me, correct?
Normally, both NVMes don’t fail at the same time, right?
In fairness I don’t think you get a different support if you are on SYS or Kimsufi or whatever. What matters more is if you are on the free "standard" support or if you chose to pay for a higher level of support. They explain the differences between support levels on the website.
If you use RAID 1 and one disk fails, it’s reasonable to think you'll have a window of opportunity to request that they change it before the second one fail. You can give the serial number of the drive so that they don’t misunderstand and change both disks.
Unless your data on the server is of little value to you, you should have an external backup regardless.
If only OVH had an API to just put in a request that doesn't rely on ticket...
Agree raid 0 is the way to go
SSD never dies
Until it happens but we don’t care because the server is idle
Yes!!!
I used RAID 1 for logical recovery, but the remaining drive also failed.
The last failed hard drive didn’t even show any errors in its SMART.
It is very important to have external backups.
Is that Calin? I keep seeing his face on random threads here, I don't understand, is Calin the new Cociu and has GOAT status or something?
https://www.ovhcloud.com/en/lp/find-your-gpu/
What does that mean? Buy one and setup our own ChatGPT?
Was that happening to you with an HDD, or was it an SSD or NVMe? If so, using RAID 0 seems like a good idea.
Uh, I didn't find any, so I made one: https://github.com/y8/ovh-catalog-archive
Imported whatever was in Web Archive and probably need to trigger WA snapshot via SPN2 when something changes, but not today
Upd: fixed releases, so now you can watch repo releases and get notifications when catalog is updated. Initial diffs right are a bit large and GitHub is not displaying them properly, but it next one should be manageable
Exactly
There's no more availability for the SYS-LE-1 anywhere, if some of you guys were basing their gambling pattern on that.
OVH is closely monitoring LET here.
.. Some might fall into the trap.
@ninzo59 wouldn't do that!

Too late...
New rise is coming

I've got orders but unless there are some big lottery hits, I'm not going to pay them.
SYS-LE-1, one new disk and second with 5k hours
