He just wants to watch p0rnhub and needs a vpn to bypass the ip ban they made on Texas. I don't know much about all the ins and outs, but I am interested in setting up openvpn for the teaching experience.
Can anyone suggest a host that would be OK with that? Mods, please delete if my question is not allowed.

Any vps that isnt in texas would allow you to watch pornhub, no one cares if you watch legal porn.
try to setup wireguard, it's a much safer/better alternative to openvpn

From good VPN providers, which I would recommend over selfhosting, if privacy is your concern. You blend in with other users, instead of being the only person visiting cornhub from that IP address, making it extremely easy to profile.

I read the PornHub public statement regarding their geo-blocks some time ago, it contained a couple of false arguments for why they block half of the US states, shallow and contradictory excuses but supposedly they nailed the audience if the comments left at the bottom of the article represent anything.
Since they are adding new states from time to time, it would be prudent to choose a non-US server. Cheapest would be Europe and Canada. I have about a hundred providers tagged by their ToS stance on pornography and "indecency". I'm dumping the list on you by PM.

If you want a residential ip go an get a VPN subscription from torguard. Ask for an offer, normally they give out huge discounts. Got my residential ip from there with a VPN plan for 20€ annualy.
