What's the big game here? Under another provider's thread, you talked shit about their server because computebox's GB6 results were better. And now under computebox you are talking shit about their disk pricing because Layer7 has better disk prices.

Did you actually see the disk speeds of Layer7 that you can claim it's good as computebox's then saying theirs is cheaper?

Just stop shitting under providers' threads and use whatever you think is the best and cheapest for you.

I don't think one should compare computebox with layer7.

I have used layer7 VDS and was disappointed with its performance. In terms of encoding, it was one of the weakest server I have used at the price range of $8 to be honest. For storage purpose, it is cheap but when it comes to performance, layer7 falls short.

Computebox on the other hand, performance is top notch. With GB6 score of 2400, it is one of the best performing server at $5 range.

    Both carers different audience.

But what performance do these NVMEs have?

We’ve chosen KIOXIA enterprise-grade NVMe drives, costing over €1000 for 7.68TB.
Can we offer the absolute lowest prices with hardware like that? No.
But we can proudly say we’re using top-of-the-line components — because performance and reliability matter.

We’re not aiming to be the cheapest hoster, but rather a professional one that values quality over corners cut.

good arguments. it is well known that these kioxia are very fast and expensive. that's why you probably can't compare it 1:1. understood.

Can you add rescale option? So user can adjust cpu or ram by itself, also please add hourly rate if possible

Upscaling is always possible, but downscaling is a bit more complex.

Reducing resources like CPU or RAM requires a reboot. Technically, we could force a reboot when a user removes extra resources — but in my opinion, that would just create unnecessary frustration, even if we warn the user multiple times in advance.

As for storage downscaling, that would require a full reinstall of the VM, which isn’t ideal for most users.

We’re currently working on a GPU-focused platform/sub-brand with hourly billing. I can also imagine offering CPU-only VMs there as an option. On that platform, though, long-term customers will always have priority over hourly-billed users — ensuring performance and availability for those relying on us for production workloads.

Hostbrr is much expensive than computebox. In the similar price range, you will struggle to run windows due lack of adequate ram and storage.

Hostbrr can be compared to berohost ryzen 9950x line. Both are in similar category.

Please note that our lower-cost servers will not include backup space by default, but you’ll be able to purchase backup storage as an add-on for your server.

    What's the price per GB?

Backup storage will be priced at around €1 per 200 GB (net).
Please note that the pricing is not final yet and may change slightly before the official launch.

Our backups are off-site, and you will have the ability to configure up to three daily, weekly, and monthly automated backup jobs.
You will also have the option to perform manual backups at any time, and you can set how many backups you want to keep per job.

A backup will only consume as much storage space as the actual used data of your VM.
For example, if your VM uses 20 GB, you could store approximately 7 backups within 150 GB of backup space.

All servers priced above €7 (net) will include at least enough backup storage for one full backup, even if the entire VM disk is utilized at 100%.

    price per backup, bette deal.

That really depends on your usage.
Most users don’t fully utilize their entire VM disk space, so for them, pricing per GB is the better and fairer option.

We did consider pricing per backup slot, but we couldn’t find a good way to structure it.
It wouldn’t make sense to charge the same for a 30 GB VM backup as for a 200 GB VM backup — the resource usage is completely different.
And if we start pricing backup slots based on used space, it basically brings us right back to pricing by GB anyway.

What expected price would be for rtx3090/h/day

Currently, we only plan to offer professional GPUs such as the 4000 ADA, Pro 4000, 6000 ADA, Pro 6000, and L4.

Since this project is scheduled for later down the line, I can’t provide exact pricing yet. However, we already offer GPUs at monthly rates:
    • 4000 ADA: €100/month
    • 6000 ADA: €550/month

Pro series cards have already been ordered, but availability depends on NVIDIA’s delivery schedules, so there may still be some waiting time.

  • computebox is solid. (and showed honorable behavior towards hostbrr @labze when he had problems with the epyc turin in connection with windows)
