How does the epyc turin perform with a windows server install??
I think there was some comments back and forth with @hyperblast and @labze in previous page or two. @labze says it's fixed with latest power management changes.
it downgrades a little.
While in Ubuntu, GB 6 is near 2800 but if windows, it comes down to around 2500.
interesting, I dunno if this would be viable for encoding, like throttle it to 75-85%, but I'm itching on the checkout button lol
buy it. performance is otherwise good.
He said that there is 7 days or 5 days refund period. If you want just ask @labze first to be sure.
Is there anyone here who is currently running windows server on an EPIC-EPCY?
Running on Epyc Turin. Windows server 2022
is it possible for you to run geekbench for windows and share the results here?
it goes 2500 on windows as mentioned above
i have read that. my question / request to @itachikonoha still remains.
no problem. Give me few minutes.
I don't understand all these complaints. @labze is throwing cutting-edge servers at you for a bargain price, and for what feels like 30 pages now, there's been nothing but debate about how well Windows performs on them. If the servers aren't performing well enough for you, just use the money-back guarantee and find another provider—or wait until labze fixes it.

Hello! I want to rent a vpn for a year. Can I use it while in Russia? Are your Russian IP addresses blocked?
Have you bought one?
Complaints are fine, but how they've been delivered maybe not so much.
Turin servers are still fairly new. There are still a lot of changes happening under the hood in every kernel update with these CPUs. That's a downside of using cutting edge hardware that isn't in production in many places yet, it isn't truly optimized for all workloads. While I understand no one wants a "broken" product, people should also understand that I do not wish to deliver something broken.
Thus, if something isn't as it should be it would be better to just notify me of a issue instead of ranting and calling it a bad offer.
In the end my goal as a provider is to have satisfied customers and run a service that I am proud of and would see myself happy to be a client in myself. If I should fail this then I rather refund clients, even outside the refund window, than leave someone unsatisfied.
(Of course within reason)
Also, a kudos and thanks to @ComputeBox for giving some pointers on what could be my issue :-) Much appreciated!
@labze Could it be that Windows itself the root cause?
I have ComputeBox's Turin server too and will run the same tests to check if the ComputeBox's score also deflects the same between the two OS.
If it indeed shows the same pattern, then I guess the issue is probably can not be solvable by provider only.
windows-related contributions are only a fraction of this thread. it is rather the whining for more offers and ever cheaper packages.
for example, i had bought the most expensive package 9€/mth (which is definitely a good offer) and realized that the potent processor was performing incorrectly with windows server. this has been a legitimate concern and labze seems to have solved the problem now. so where is the problem when it is identified and solved, there is none anymore. the windows server users benefit now as well and those using linux from the beginning.
What's the cpu policy for the turins? @labze
What's your GB 6 in windows now?
if you are referring to me, then i strongly disagree. i pointed out window problems, that's true. i could have done it via ticket, that's also true. but i have always praised the offer.
Officially 30% sustained. In reality it is hardly ever enforced unless clients sign up for 10s of servers and run the latest crypto project, or someone buys multiple servers to run windows on 2 cores while multi botting some game.
Only idling is allowed
very praiseworthy behavior! honorable!
must first order the epic-epyc again.
I agree with the sentiment that we (myself included perhaps) should have treated @labze more professionally than we have. Thanks for what you do @labze ! In reality we’re not entitled to anything from you.
In the future I’m going to need half a dozen Turin and 9950X VPSes in EU for a month-long project and will be using HostBrr for it to give you normal pricing business.
Though we don’t realize it, it’s a slap in the face to the provider to say that their product sucks or that it does bad when they put genuine effort to offer a great product, effectively dissing their hard work they put in to bring this to the market. That’s something we all ought to be mindful of. Providers are human too, they aren’t [always] faceless corporations!
I think we all should appreciate @labze more. He is offering great service.
for a moment website slowed down as hell, i thought you drop $7/y deal
@labze
@labze has been offering the best Shared Hosting, VPS, and Storage servers in the low-end market. All of their stuff is the latest generation CPU, RAM, and NVMe. Even if there are some rare hiccups, those should considered part of the deal.
