Damn, hosthatch is on fire provisioning those machines. Mine is still pending (Compute, CH).

Does anyone know what is “fair share” for the storage servers? I’m wondering if it’s OK to do file compression on it on one of the cores, though I’ll obviously space it out (e.g. 1 min sleep between files) to avoid using too much CPU.
couldn't help
Happy Birthday, @hosthatch.. my favorite provider. You don't have any storage servers in Amsterdam. I made a big mistake for letting my 10TB server go.
When did you run the yabs? I'd expect the stats to get updated once a day at night, not in real time.
Ordered 2 compute and 1 storage during flash sale, just got all of them provisioned.
Now I just have to figure out what to do with them.
You can use the cpu don’t worry…
I maxed out the cpu during hours and hours by transferring tb of data with encryption few times.
For me, this just means that performance is not guaranteed and that cpu steals can be frequent. So don't plan on using the server for heavy, regular compute.
If you don't abuse the server on purpose, you won't have any problems. From my experience with hosthatch
If you need to do file compression during days and days. Yes that could be a problem
Singapore routing is weirddddd.

Outgoing is all Epsilon....
Then incoming is all GSL....
And Epsilon route to HK back to Singapore for local ISP Singtel
@hosthatch can refund?
Did you test the looking glass before ordering?
You can put it up for service transfer especially if it’s the flash deal one.
"4 CPU cores (1 dedicated core, 3 fairly shared cores) ROME/MILAN"
How do i interpret this. Does that mean the dedicated core only exists in ROME/MILAN? Will chicago get me the single dedicated with 3 shared? Is there a way to tell which cores are which as well?
Dedicated core is a bit unclear thing overall. You own the core meaning you can use 100% of it, but it's not something you can distinguish on your side. Usually, virtualization software limits the user's resources after certain time. Each host has different rule (like you can use 10% of a core repeatedly for an hour etc.) so when you get dedicated core you can use more resource in general.
But afaik, there is no any specific place that you can follow your dedicated core or only use that etc.
I'm open to getting corrected ofc.
Nvm. They gonna look into the problem.

Typical problem
I think the right way to look at it is you can use 25% CPU (out of 100% total) all the time 24/7, and anything above that should be used on a fair share basis. I don’t think any of the dedicated cores are actually pinned like a VDS.
Indeed it was a timing issue. Not sure why I thought it has been a few days, but it does show the correct usage now
Yay just got my NYC compute VPS!! 😁
Zurich A14 2GB
YABS for FLASH 2GB - A14 (LA)
Got provisioned FAST
FLASH 1 TB - A14
Why you little.......
Invoice #496691 When can the Japanese server be delivered?
4 storage and 3 server
I gotta stop i guess
Just curious how you've got immich setup, do one of your compute servers handle the processing or is everything on the storage server?
Everything on storage
Basically my usage is low it's just a backup, so no issue in spikes

Received my LA Storage server yesterday and found out there's a preconfigured reverse DNS record domain called "stunning.starssupport..." which is not owned by me. It also has its A record pointing to this server's IP address.
I thought my server was hijacked lmao.
