StartCampus - Huge DC in Portugal
Thought I'd share this here as a proud portuguese.

1.2 GW, amazing, it'll be the largest data center in Europe.

Indeed, it's giant... Enormous.
I doubt it. It's targeted to hyperscales. Small companies like mine need to use a middle man, that'll be...Expensive. They just won't bother replying to emails from small companies.
Still interesting tho, maybe it'll make their competition decrease their pricing.

Ai is their main focus so yes, most probably. Ai and funky funny money are huge energy wasters. Even if 100% green/neutral, still wasting probably about 69% to power ai creating memes. So still a waste imho.
Its another form of greenwashing as that energy could have been used in so many better ways to advance the region and life... But that's for another topic.
But you know, it's an interesting project given location, the tech behind it.
Now follow how quick the electric prices will rocket in Portugal. No country wants to host DC anymore as due to enormous electric usage, it makes the bills sky rocket of residentials.
