Ah yes, what better way to use an idle server than to install an innocent looking chinese backdoor. How much are you paying for all these idle servers?
inb4 "hurr durr it's open source". did you inspect the code? is there an audit?
huh?
@rustelekom is literally here on LET and is a completely different company.
hostry.com also doesn't have anything to do with Aéza, they're just a middleman reseller for VMs.
I would also consider nuxt.cloud, bul.net, scalesta.com, prohoster.info, astralinux.ru to have no affiliation with Aéza, but that's up to you to consider, I guess.
Kinda in doubt with berch.cloud since they use aurologic, but Aéza also does, and we all know they're good friends
That's basically "trust me bro"
But I did and I've come to no conclusions.
How does it matter where is software made? You probably already use some that have Chinese contributors.
Are there not-innocent looking backdoors?
I'd say if they had bad intentions they would make English docs more accessible.
Edit: wadhah below posted while I was typing this, his reasoning is better
Man I'm as paranoid as it gets and I dont get this.
You know the chinese open source community is bigger than the western one right?
They are not evil demons waiting for the moment someone outside of china installs their software so they can get a backdoor in.
Not trusting the chinese government? Sure makes sense considering their track record
Not trusting open source projects just because they are chinese developped is borderline racist.
Shameless 10,- setup fee ;p
Not really, still a good deal. It was introduced recently due to "abuse"
doesn't make it a good deal tbh, would have taken one if it wasn't for the fee. now it becomes a 16/y deal for 1c/1g/10gb
That is wrong information. We do not have any relation with Aeza.net, as already stated by @zGato.
16$ / first year. It's insane for me because of /48, it might be different if you have no use for that.
Sorry for the mistake
No problem.
Good friends is a quite interesting assumption. Certain entities are customers here, but that doesnt make them being a friend as long as not met personally and known for quite some years
Sorry for digging this up, kinda relevant though;
To those that have the VPS - how has the network been recently?
For me it's basically unusable, want to rule out skill issue.
The owners are aeza.net
Again, what makes you believe that?
They're Russian, they have a company in London.
Same locations, same panel with modifications.
It's the same function they operate
That option free on a Linux/Windows server
https://h2.nexus/cli
Not surprising, like every Russian does that.
Germany and Finland? That's a lot to draw conclusions from. Even disregarding those are like the most common locations ever. Plus aeza has (had?) more. Also not the same upstreams.
And ispsystem, the vps panel? It's pretty popular all over Russia, myself not sure why.
Not sure what you mean by that? They have different billing panels, different payment methods, different upstreams.
Looks distinct. Surely copied the idea though.
Now, I know, they do take ideas from the one and only... but they're not from the same basket.
not because it’s wrote by Chinese, but it has many fuzzy code way more than an agent do. no wander some vps providers in China banned it, it’s vulnerable especially you setup it easily.
