MXROUTE disabled/suspended all accounts bought from this reseller--Bytevirt
Supposedly the reason was that there was email abuse.
But isn't it normal to disable one account or domain?
It's unclear how many email users are affected.
This is a ridiculous way to do business.
RESELLER literally sells services that are not their own.
So the users aren't just reseller customers either?
Does mxroute have any responsibility for these customers?

Perhaps the reseller got hacked and all accounts were compromised? Sucks if you close all just for only 1 abuser.
Well.
Wha? You brought an account from a resaller? I'll ping @jar and he could ask you why your account/domain is closed? I don't even understand this thread
If I understood correctly how this kind of thread usually unfolds, I'll write my part. I should wait a few more posts but I'm afraid I'll forget.
I trust MXRoute a lot as a long time user of 3 years. It handles the emails that my printer/scanner sends me, and also when my OVH-hunting-script needs to warn me of anything happening on OVH's API, MXRoute never fails to deliver. MX Route would never terminate my account even when I receive multiple emails from Let's Encrypt in a short period of time.
I would recommend MXRoute to a friend.
Reseller needs to abide by the same terms needed to purchase direct from MXroute. I'd assume they were letting anyone and everyone sign up, causing issues.
When I finish manually reviewing the logs and domain lists for to every account under that reseller, and I’m confident that I have fully removed the spammers, I will unsuspend it.
When I do, I highly recommend doing whatever you need to do to back up your data under this reseller. Imapsync your data.
Billing automation systems have features that help reduce fraudulent service orders, and many hosts go out of their way to make sure they don’t continue to get new orders from abusive customers. Some hosts just provision anything that receives a payment without a care in the world, who cares about the impact on other customers if they can make $5? Well I do.
If a reseller customer account makes a mistake, wouldn't it make more sense to just ban the customer account?
And then the next customer account, and then the next customer account, and then the next customer account…
Each one taking a piece of IP reputation for every other customer with it because new spam filters have to be built for new trends after recognizing them.
Victims experienced 1-2 days of service disruption.
The backup was only a temporary measure and I don't expect to get a refund from reseller.
But how can I prevent this from happening again?
It's even more ridiculous to blame reseller, of course they joined your program because they want to profit.
You are a businessman too, you understand PROFIT!
I have to ask here. Mxroute has the cheapest rate for premium service.
What is the "extra" benefit of buying through a reseller? Does it become even more cheap?
Yeah, that’s definitely a big issue 😔
BTW, I couldn’t complete the payment on MXroute—think it was a 3DS problem or something? 😅 Any chance you’d be open to accepting crypto just this once?
Don't buy from resellers?
They were letting anyone signup according to @jar with no care to spam. Do you want him to congratulate the reseller and give him a prize?
So just fuck IP reputation and fuck every single other customer of mine because profit? Fuck you. Pay me enough to refund every god damn customer I have and then we’ll TALK about letting this shitty reseller destroy my hard work and the promises I’ve made to my customers.
I run this to provide quality. I don’t wipe my ass with hundred dollar bills. I wipe my ass with the tear-stained tissues of spammers and the people who empower them. Your reseller chose to be the latter. That was their choice, and now they have to accept a service disruption for failure to properly filter their new service orders.
become very troublesome. This means that the reseller is not implementing the mxroute policy properly. but it is also difficult to filter customers who intend to abuse the service
All mail should land in spam and we should allowininbox predefined hosts/domains.

Some police'ing the internet is meh.
Who the hell pay's for email just to send non business mail? You have whatsapp for that.
I don’t know, I seem to do alright at it.
Then why not shutting down the reseller program?
Or warn users of this risk earlier.
It was the job of your reseller to warn you of the risk of their lack of attention to their ordering process.
The reseller is breaking the agreement by allowing the abuse or not preventing it. As one myself: no, it's not ridiculous to blame the reseller. Luckily I trust the communication process and handling of such events that I am not too worried about being booted off completely, but cautious to the possibility.
The key thing I am gathering from Jar's response is that it's not a singular issue, he said spammers. One or two I'm sure would be dealt with appropriately.. a pattern needs to be investigated and prevented.
Also your title is misleading
I think you need to read jar's comments a few more times
I hope onepoundmail will remain safe, I have an account there 😁
Same, but regardless of who's safe/trusted/reputable etc etc.. keep your own backups. Even as a direct customer.
Dear Jar, I'd like to inquire with respect. Regarding bytevirt, is it the case that they were aware of the existence of the abuse situation, had the capability and the responsibility to prevent it, but actually took no action at all? Thank you for your time and kind attention.
I changed the title( from CLOSED to disabled/suspended)
I didn't know the difference between closed and suspended before posting this.
RESELLER did not do their due diligence to inform me.
Me pay for emails to send nothing, stop judging
OnePoundEmail has always followed MXroute's policies pretty closely—they even added some stuff about Instantly.ai recently, which I think MXroute also included in their latest updates (if I’m remembering right).
Maybe people were abusing it? Not sure 🤷♂️
Alsooo... looks like @MichaelCee snagged that legendary MXroute deal 👀
Any chance OnePoundEmail might throw in some matching 😉😉😜 over-the-top MXroute-style packages too? 😏
Well he actually cares and doesn’t just sleep while WHMCS automates everything. So I don’t see why it wouldn’t be safe.
Where's the net neutrality guys lmao
75% off with Bytevirt discount code when?
I don’t know if I could say they were aware. I don’t think they pay attention until something breaks.
