my opinion for charityhost is they do marketing free servers, then months later they sneak peak there's server if find any abuse file. if founded, so they suspend and charge 25$ so they can bear free servers (which dont violate aup) cost. if caught, he will show attitude because he is paid provider here.
here is my final request to all the mod and admins, please suspend @CharityHost_org provider host tag since he looking into users data without consent and do giveaway here to honeytrap for extortion. i am demanding this on basis of my case and few other cases talked about in this thread from others such as changing clients password without clients consent.

Private collections cannot be used as policy violations under many laws actually. If you found the user distributing or hosting for others to use illegally then you have right to do this. But it didn’t sound like this is the case.
I suspect the host is overselling and looking for excuses.

If he is spending a certain amount of time reading customer files for free/paid accounts in order to ask customers to pay him the extra compensation he deserves to achieve profitability. If he finds a profitable part in the Linux ISO I uploaded or suspends my account to stop the loss. The above is just some speculation...

What is this fee based on? Is this stated clearly within the TOS and your AUP?
Why did you look into OP's files? Did you get an abuse report?

While the potential client should read the AUP/TOS prier to signing up as they do click the checkbox saying they have read it on signup.
Issues at hand here.
Provider snooped on clients files. (Big privacy issue here, Unless you were provided by a valid court order to take said files down or was issued a CSAM notice.) Any of those notices will in fact @oplink will get these notices as you are using their IP space/network per a lookup on https://bgp.tools/prefix/38.252.8.0/24#dns
Also saying the client needs to pay a $25/fee is not in your TOS/AUP per FTP account usage. You have only stated VPS and email abuses.

My biggest issue here is the provider snooping onto clients servers/files. As has been mentioned its happened at multiple times to different clients.
@CharityHost_org: My recommendation here is let the client get their files back. Wave the fee unless can prove there was a lawful complaint. Then put all this behind you.
If you don't want this type of stuff on your servers you will also need to better mention it in your AUP/TOS. As at this point its not even about the type of files that were on the servers as its more about the privacy.

That's the most obvious path they could have taken for maximum damage control and this thread would have ended 4 pages ago if they did that. Instead, I think this is a hill they would prefer to die on for their "ideology." Plus, I doubt it would make people trust them again to order from them.
They didn't even bother to use a lame excuse such as "that was an inexperienced staffer spouting BS, we will restore your access for free for a week before we terminate service" (whether said mythical staffer exists or not is irrelevant, people would have accepted it as truth anyway).
Reading this thread and this is sooo wrong.
@CharityHost_org needs to realize how active this community is. Every promotion will get a black stain of comments related to this thread and the community here will comment first thing reminding folks what happened: Violating privacy rights.
