YABS. Machine is a beast.
Yes, SME by default on all new plans. Been busy and haven't messed with SEV-ES much in recent days. Will loop back to it soon. Will be extra, due to manual setup and because not everyone needs it or may not appreciate the limitations it may impose on the VM. (Slight performance overhead, no snapshots, etc) Likely a one time setup fee, as im not seeing any way to automate it at setup. Haven't dug too deep into VF's custom provisioner options yet, though.
Nice, looking forward to test it.
I am checking this and seems like SME is not enabled. There was no mem_encrypt=on in GRUB, which I added. However, dmesg | grep -i sme gives empty output and there is no /sys/kernel/mm/mem_encrypt folder is not there. Am I missing something?
SME is a host level feature. SEV-ES will be specific to VMs.
On mobile right now but in the coming days or week I'll have better documentation available.

CONTEST
CONTEST
Name a node
This can be fun. Our old legacy plans were always deployed on nodes with a "WA-US-XX" scheme, with an incremental number increase. Now we're doing unique names for each one.
How to enter
Respond with:
Node name: [insert name here]This can be your dog, an LET inside joke, your own name, etc. Just no brand names or anything vulgar. (Though racknerd.wa-us.vmho.st does have a good ring to it)
Only one entry per user!
How to win
The entry with the most "Thanks" will be the winner. If two or more are tied, the winner will be chosen at random.
What you win
$44.44 account credit, and your chosen name will live on, being visible in traceroutes, internal software, and end-user control panel display.
Contest ending tomorrow

If this goes over well we may continue this tradition in each POP as new hardware is deployed.
The time is now 4:44. The stars are aligned.
Node name: wehostart
This is the most creative bump reason I have ever seen yet. Great job @MannDude
Easy engagement farming.

First of all: Happy Anniversary!
Node name: rm-rf.oops.backup.gone
"WA-US-XX" is still the best naming.
