I mean dude, even Paypal said they are right, why are you still argue-ing? :-D
Just don't fucking buy a shared webhosting to run your VPN, tada.
OP got a full refund from you?
Bro.all commands list by xhost are all the commands i executed on their host. No more at all. I'd like to try everything within a decent limit. What is not prohibited by law is permitted. I have no any willing to hack or hijack the system. I just think it's funny to try any possibility within a limit. xhost never told sudo would got baned. So i tried as i mentioned above serv00.com is also a webhosting provides free ssh without root. The provides 3 ports for each user and no root (no any kind baning ) with freebsd. So i previously asked them if ssh enabled or not and got the yes so i bought one and looking into their tos to find out if there is any kind of limit that not be forbidden and i found no rules i would break as i just try some scripts. If there are some ports open and i would try if a vpn script would work.
They just baked me without any notice. And he claims i abused their service. OK four commands including sudo is abuse. OK. fine. They terminated my service and refuse to refund.
That's all
Yes the OP did, the other user took it to PayPal, we did as PayPal asked and provided all proof they requested and we left PayPal to make an informed decision on that case.
What do you think of Taiwan? What happened 1989 on the Tiananmen Square?
You connect to SSH
The first message is a polite notice asking you not to use sudo and not to leave home directory
If a polite notice asking you not to do something on a system is not enough to tell you not to, the fact you had been unblocked once and then blocked again within 30 minutes for the same thing.
What do you expect to happen, you become blocked, you create PayPal cases.
From now on i would to say yes what you wrote is all right. Xhost you are the God of the hosting provider
@xHosts
Just to say that I'm basically on your side here (even if I wanted to smile a bit earlier in this thread)
One problem is that an attractive lifetime offer for shared hosting (such as yours) is going to attract dubious users sooner or later (and probably sooner rather than later)
I can't judge the intentions of the two users at issue here, but if sooner or later, you would encounter dubious users, I'm afraid
In a sense, if the visibility of this thread dissuades some dubious users from signing up for your lifetime offer, then this is a positive outcome both for you and for them (certainly for you, I would say)
Thank for you for helping me feel better
Yes, I am grateful to both users bringing my site and threads this much attention, it is so much more than I could have wished for for my birthday yesterday
>
Don't blame that on the customer. This is something you literally imposed on yourself.
Yes so you win big matter you are right or not. The admins love you for business. You should Thanks me back for so much attention
As started so many times now, if a person makes a mistake there is no issue, when a person is being purposely evasive in their replies while then publicly admitting they will keep testing to find out what is forbidden, simple and best option was to fully refund and close the account allowing them to move on, thankfully this thread has been created and brought me a lot more orders, brand attention and a clear insight that things are not always as first claimed.
I do thank you and @Chellii and I doubt my business has anything to do with it, early in the thread some of the mods held a sceptical view but after things have been explained in detail that bring clarity to the situation they are able to see the big picture on how things have happened in each case.

Has anyone investigated what the two scripts do?
From a brief look, some type of proxy - perhaps to escape GFW?
This one
https://raw.githubusercontent.com/yonggekkk/sing-box-yg/main/serv00.sh
Includes
echo "Please run as root"
Has No Signature or Hash Verification:
Attempts to bind to a few ports to VPN/Proxy services
Yes, that is basically it
I think I have some say on this: Yes, the purpose of this script is to install Singbox in order to use various protocols to bypass certain network blockades, including Reality, S5, Shadowsocks, and other similar protocols.
Wait ? Is this a VPS or shared hosting ?
$3.5 lifetime shared hosting.
i have reconsidered my opinion, xhosts is in the right according to the latest findings and considerations, and the “sudo” tester is more likely to be the intermediate person here.
this has been a very interesting thread to read. i also bought the 3.5 euro lifetime plan from xHosts not long ago this month.
it's kinda off-topic, but still, i do have some question for you @xHosts regarding email, i don't think it deserve its own thread here on LET, and i'm writing here (instead of writing a ticket) just in case it could be useful for someone reading this.
i'm asking this because i currently still have a mail subscription on a mail service so in the mean time, i redirected mail service to that one instead. also, this is a "lifetime" service we are talking about, that (probably) includes the email bundled with the hosting plan as well. in a sense, this is kinda "too good to be true" which is why i'm asking this
Curiosity != accidentally. :facepalm:
Maybe @xHosts could lockdown the SSH to only permit SFTP and disallow terminal sessions altogether.
This way rclone still works for secure file transfer, but nobody can try any commands.
I like the sound of that, but it doesn't sound like they have much say over how it works since they're just reselling 20i
Imagine telling people "don't use sudo" and "don't stray from your home directory" LOL
How about just go with a proper host who has their shared hosting properly locked down? Guess what happens when I type "sudo " in a regular shared environment? What about listing home directories?
Banned for typing in "sudo" is ridiculous. Telling people to "stay in their home directories" is even more ridiculous.
I guarantee, 100%, that everyone has had an instance where they had multiple terminal tabs open and accidentally executed a command they intended for one server, but shortly after executing, realized it was the wrong server. Accidents happen...but if they happen with xHosts, they send your ass packin'
Hit up someone like @MikeA, @speedypage or @labze for proper shared hosting - they don't have any of these weird ass quirks.
He successfully detected and kicked off an annoying time waster. The fucking OPs intention was to break the server. It's not his server, he had no permission. He should be banned.
Speaking about China, nothing to speak.
20i keeps their ranges clean, I have never had any issues reported regarding deliverability issues since 20i operate a zero tolerance of spam. We never access a customers account unless they make contact to for example tell us I need help with importing this database.
We would never read a customers emails.
Maybe if you read all the replies, including the statements I had from 20i directly you would see it is locked down and that is merely a polite notice of a reminder.
Petey you would have also read that if an account is blocked and from SSH logs it is easy to see someones intent if it is an error because of multiple tabs or not, I have said so many times on the thread if its a clear error, there is no issue the account is unblocked and everyone is happy.
The issue when someone is intent on using commands, being vague and evasive when a simple question that is when red flags are raised, combine that with false account details will add even more red flags.
If someone can’t be straight with their intent who can second guess their real motive and is that work the risk to everyone else using the service ? I don’t believe risking everyone to keep one evasive person happy.
Could that person know a unreported exploit? What are they hoping to gain by in their own words from the other thread of testing what is or is not forbidden ?
You're missing my entire point. I just showed you, on a competing provider, what happens when you type in your "forbidden phrases" and guess what? My account is still chugging along and my provider doesn't care. Why? Because the provider has everything set up properly and I'm unable to do anything outside of my home directory - as intended.
Your setup sounds janky as fuck all around but hey, if people are willing to throw down $5 for a lifetime deal after scrolling past the thread where a the guy failed with $15 lifetime deals, by all means, keep it up! Didn't think people would be so stupid but I gotta give credit where credit is due.
To be fair, it's a limitation of 20i platform that the provider is using. So xhost doesn't really have much control over it.
The blame goes to 20i for making an awful design pattern where you have to lock out people.
