@wadhah said: Oh it's not easy at all to setup :D

But it is one of the most complicated pieces of software out there tbh

Trust me that guide/repo makes it 100 times easier than following the normal docs for each component :D

    but is it worth it?

If its like for prod then that itself is the answer for that but for other things it will depend on you do u need that fine control, if yes then.......again, you got your answer

I have a dashboard that tracks grafana itself and it has around 300 stats updated every 5 seconds, just to give you an idea

I agree. Petitioning @FAT32 before we process his retirement paperwork to make it site-wide permanent. I'll double my BilohBucks fee.

And of course I'm monitoring the most important stat of them all: steal

This particular node (a host sailor 6gb) had a 0.0320% steal over the last 3 months. An impressive number tbh

You can monitor steal with default node_exporter, can you?

  • While we are at the grafana FAQ (thanks @wadhah !)

How much work is it adding a VPS to it? And is the work done on the VPS or the Hub thing?

I dont mind setting up the main thing, but ill go crazy if every vps i want to monitor takes me another 5 minutes

I have got a script, which download node_exporter, installs it and enables https. Then I just add new node to my prometheus and restart it. Overall, takes around 3-5 mins chilling poking your nostrils.

Not that long tbh, but it's not an easy process (compared to the 15 seconds of beszel)

I think so? I honestly sacrifice a bit of fruit every time I login to Grafana in the hopes that nothing breaks because I have no recollection of how I set it up/ made it work in the first place :D

My home pc, laptop, and phone all have solid true and tested backup plans.

My servers are not prod so I don't honestly care enough. If it breaks the IT gods wished it and I'll fix it, eventually.

Using it as well but do not like the fact you need to run it in CLI. However, works really well.
