Netcup network issues

Netcup network issues for anyone? Started getting issues at 6:35 EST today, still on going...

Comments

  • I'm experiencing the same issue with my VPS in their Manassas, USA datacenter.

  • Yes did a MTR looks like huge NTT/Lumen packet loss into the Manassas data center, now looks like they switched to telia and it is working now.

Same. HetrixTools was sending numerous up/down emails for the Netcup servers in Manassas for the past several hours. They've been up for about an hour now.

  • Netcup is starting to have issues again past 2 hours, same Lumen issue, hopefully they switch over to telia again. May have to rethink netcup, network.

netcup doesnt have awesome networking but has best value for cpu/memory and bandwidth usage but someone like @Clouvider network is super premium and they have a promo thread rn. obviously more expensive per compute but network is wonderful

    Thanked by 1Clouvider
  • yes netcup is good for a while then pukes for an hour.

  • vps or rs?

FWIW: My netcup VDS shows uptime 443 days - and it would be even more if I myself hadn't rebooted it back then (due to a major upgrade).

Also checked yesterday. My netcup VDS was and is perfectly well reachable.

  • No issues in Austria,

  • Mines a RS,

yes Netcup is reachable all the time but they can have packet loss, have a httpd get script that checks every second from multiple vps's and can get 30 min periods of packet loss every other day, usually around 6:30 pm EST and the Lumen router (in MTR, traceroutes) is usually the culprit.

    Some other vps's I've tried

Clouvider while better also does have some packet loss during the day/ random in their VA location.

    Ovh very good (for dedicated).

    Greencloud, excellent A++

    Lowhosting good

I'm now testing Linveo, ohio location, I wish their Yabs single core was a little higher I get 2400 area for 9950x and the disk benchmark could be higher, maybe they really pack in the vps's.

  • Someone on the official Netcup forum claims there was a DDoS attack on the Manassas DC last week.

I have also noticed Lumen disappearing and reappearing as an upstream over the past month or so. Seems like the Manassas location is maybe still experiencing some growing pains.

  • RS 1000 Austria. No downtime.

  • I hope its growing pains the RS itself functions great, good speed, could use faster disk but its standard SSD speed and ok.
