Anyone has a good contact at SGIX, Singapore's Internet Exchange?

ServerPoint would like to peer with SGIX to improve our routing for our services hosted in Singapore.

For some time, we've been sending emails to SGIX' listed contact emails and we've also filled their online contact form.

We also called their NOC, who told us they'd open a ticket for us to get someone to reach us out.

We've sent messages, and make contact form submissions, not only with a company address but we also tried a gmail.com address, in case we were not receiving their replies for some reason.

However, for weeks, we have not been able to reach someone.

Anyone knows someone there? We'd appreciate some help with this! :)

We heard back from them. The process to connect to SGIX has begun... hopefully it will be ready in a few weeks. :)

any plans on dedicated servers? I like that you're at equinix and not at racks central like most other SG hosts.

We've been thinking about that... about bringing our dedicated server product to all our data centers. Currently, it is only available in our main facility, in Las Vegas, Nevada, but we are about to open that service in Dallas, TX (in a few weeks), and then Ashburn, Virginia later in the year.

The issue with Singapore, and Equinix, is that electricity is 3-4 times what we normally pay in other data centers.

So, we can bring dedicated servers there, but we are not sure if the price would be something that clients would be willing to pay.

Of course, bandwidth is also more expensive, but the cost of bandwidth is coming down in Singapore.

What are your thoughts? What would you look for and what would you be willing to pay?

We can certainly bring in new Ryzen and EPYC based servers as low as 65W TDP, but that also means the acquisition cost of those servers is higher due to those being quite new in the market.

We were estimating, for example, that an AMD Ryzen 9 9550X, with 16 cores and fully loaded with 192GBs of RAM, in Singapore, would be around $500-600/mo with a generous amount of bandwidth included. In US dollars.

Lower end models would be around $300-400ish.

Does that sound right for Singapore?

We'd like everyone to know that ServerPoint's Singapore network is now connected to SGIX, giving us local routing to hundreds of networks in that region of the world.

That's nice. Started with 10Gbps. Still waiting ipv6 in your Singapore servers

Once we finish implementing ipv6 in Dallas, Singapore will be next. :)
