Why did I choose the Los Angeles data center when I purchased the vps, but the vps assigned to me is still located in the New Jersey data center?
It is in Los Angeles.
Our ips are registered to our office in NJ. Maybe that is what you are seeing.

OK because the first few numbers in Los Angeles' IP address are the same as those in New Jersey. I mistakenly think it's still in New Jersey.
