ISO storage VPS for public torrent through VPN
Take two.
I'm looking for a storage VPS to use for torrenting through a VPN (per @wadhah suggestion). I torrent about one movie or season of a TV show per month. I'm looking to avoid DMCA notices against my home IP even if my VPN config leaks the IP. This would be a bare-bones, single-task VPS.
Other bits:
- The provider needs to allow torrents
- It would be great if I wasn't shut down the moment I screw up my VPN config and leak an IP
- I don't want to colocate with anything bulletproof
- I will run Linux and want root
- I only use public trackers
- I won't be streaming
- I generally don't care how fast the torrent completes although it would be nice to pay more when I do.
- 99.9% uptime is all I really need

BuyVM Lux should do. but if you want 2gb ram that will cost 7$
honestly most VPS will work for your needs if you are tunneling the torrent traffic through VPN. Get your favorite KVM vps provider and use a guide like this:

@concept That was my thought but I've been having trouble finding something low cost and reputable that allows torrents and is not headquartered in North America.
FWIW, virtually of the LowEndBox reccs have their headquarters in the US or Canada:
@SeederKun BuyVM Lux was the top of my list but they're sold out. Also they were bought by Cloudzy and now they're headquartered in the US. FWIW I'm not wedded to the 2GB. I've just had smoother sailing torrenting with 2GB machines than with 1GB.
In case anyone tries to figure this out in the future...
Things seem to be functioning and hidden.
Thanks to everyone for the guidance!
.... Or just limit yourself to private trackers if possible.
Yep. Monthly one movie or season - even a semi-private one like Milkie should be fine along with any VPS provider here. Servarica should work fine location-wise and also they explicitly allow “legal” torrents.
Truth.
