It's actually an honest to god giveaway, no bullshit "make an account and agree to sell us your firstborn's soul", no "add a credit card for the free trial".

It's just Direct links to ZIP files of the programs with a license key in a txt file.

I'm kinda impressed. Nice find @farsighter

  • Thanks, was surprised as well to discover direct links.

"2. It is a 1-year code that entitles you to use it for free for one year. "
so just after one year, will we stop receiving software updates or it will simply stop working. This part is tricky.

  • I had an existing AOMEI account from previous trials and there were absolutely no problems adding this serial to that account and getting the promised 1 year free. Faaaar from all companies let you do that, very glad to see that!

AOMEI Cyber Backup is a good deal.
Free unlimited backup for 1 year (Or 30 days?). No auto renewal.

  • plumbergplumberg Veteran, Megathread Squad

    Anyone used the cyber backup?

  • I tried the Backupper ages ago and the experience was so bad, I decided, never again.

  • zedzed Member

Still an interesting find. I wonder why the "Fone" one is iphone only though (also I can't take anyone seriously that names their product "Fone" wtf guys).

  • So it's free forever or not?

Fwiw, I've been a happy user of Aomei Backupper Pro for years now. Good stuff. Does what it should. I like the workflow and interface. Nothing super fancy, but everything is where I expect it to be. Navigation is intuitive. EaseUS in comparance is a pita regarding that.

Aomei PA is great, but I switched to EaseUS Partition Master Pro since there was some good sale and they have sort of the same features.

Now I have Aomei Backupper Pro and EaseUS Partition Master Pro :P

Ah yes, AOMEI. I remember finding a security flaw in their software suite over 10 years ago. I had to dig up the email I sent them:

So yes, they really did hardcode the SMTP username/password of their relay in the binaries. Their solution after I reported it? Change the password lol (and continue to hardcode it). Fun times.

Your parents really named you Freek?

And yes, this is a prime example of their software quality. They don't QA their own software, that's what you're for.
