VPS with free Plesk web host edition
Hello there,
Starto and Ionos offer free Plesk with VPS.
I can see that Ionos has an enormous number of bad reviews.
Starto look like sister company (same as fasthosting uk)?
Do you know any other provider that offers free Plesk (but not SE Admin)?
Do you have experience with any of these providers?

Hopefully I won’t jinx it, but I think a lot of the bad reviews come from people just not understanding contracts. I’ve had two of the cheap IONOS VPS for nearly 2 years now, one of which is running plesk. One has 100% uptime and the other 99.something reported in Hetrixtools.
For the price I’ve been paying, I’ve yet to find anything close in terms of performance. Im paying £2 for 2c/2gb ram/80gb/with plesk
@Outdoor - I've had similar positive experiences with Ionos. Must say that early on, I had issues with the contract terms, but their support were very accommodating, and having telephone support is a bonus. Have you looked at cplicense.net? They offer the best pricing for genuine Plesk licenses that I have seen. If you were using a higher spec machine, then one of the many VPS offers here in combo with a cplicense.net would probably work out cheaper than Ionos. @cplicensenet

No, I don't believe that to be true. I have been to many, many providers now and Ionos was by far the weirdest experience I had yet. Within 72 hours I had a server, had them suspended without doing a lot at all. I did not break any ToS, nothing. I was in the UK at the time, not a suspicious country compared to others and I've also had web hosting with fasthosts (at the same time), that itself was just plain annoying to not be able to cancel until the last month, and I still had to call up, no option online in the last month. Avoid avoid AVOID. I was one of those people who read the reviews and thought "people must be retarded or something" and became victim to a complete waste of time and effort.

I got one server, I liked it so I ordered another one and then they said they wanted documents like ID and stuff and then long story short they called me to confirm then said someone foreign picked up who didn't speak English. I said no that's not possible call again and then they were like "no, you have to take your business elsewhere" and I'm thinking I'm already paying fasthosts every month and it's basically the same company are they taking the piss. Tried escalating it and then they (customer support) blocked my email. Honestly, I was not even doing anything suspicious at all. Notably, the guy who picked up each time was the same person I'd had thought there were more than people answering phones overnight. Pretty sure he was the same guy in the cancelation department (they sent me invoices after like my account was active so had to double check)
Use HestiaCP instead. Free on all VPS.
I took out a yearly plan that I hadn't intended to test the specs but didn't cancel within the 30-day cancellation period. Despite that they cancelled the service after a phone call. Never had any issues with Ionos with performance or uptime etc.
I've used IONOS before and their support has been helpful, I love how they have phone support as it just makes it easier. What kind of bad reviews do they have tho?
