The first issue is that I am located in China,

then you should apply to APNIC, since they are your regional internet registry. if you want to apply for RIPE, you'll need to show you'll be doing stuff in Europe, apparently by having at least two VMs speaking BGP in Europe.

so the application process might be quite challenging. The second issue is that I noticed many LIR registration services only cost between tens to 200 euros, so why is it more expensive to go through RIPE? I hope to receive a response.

2000eur/year = become an actual member (LIR) of RIPE, be able to do stuff directly yourself like get an ASN or IPv6 space from RIPE itself, and vote, and go to meetings.

100eur/year = get sponsored by someone who themselves paid the 2000eur above to become an LIR, be able to ask them to get you an ASN, which is yours, and you can move to a different LIR, but they will do all the talking to RIPE. they will usually include some IPv6 space, or you can pay to rent IPv6 space from them, or any other LIR, for less than tens of euros a year for a /48, sometimes much much less.

the only functional differences between these two options for you is that RIPE LIR members can buy and use IPv4 PA space; if you don't know what that means or don't want to spend 10 000eur on 256 IPv4 addresses, it doesn't matter.

if you change your mind later, you can pay RIPE 2000eur and then switch to being your own sponsor.

Thank you so much for your detailed answers to my questions! After hearing your explanation, I now fully understand the differences between the two options and have made my decision. I truly appreciate your help again, and I believe this answer will also greatly benefit newcomers in the future.

  • I am seeking an ASN sponsorship with an annual budget of approximately 100 euros. If you offer such services, kindly reach out to me

  • Interesting is verry good price

"Regarding the lowest price for obtaining an ASN and IPv6 PA or PI, it largely depends on the RIR and the specific provider you choose. Generally, the one-time setup fee can vary between $50 to $500 USD, with yearly maintenance costs ranging from $100 to $300 USD.

For example, ARIN and RIPE NCC are two well-known RIRs that offer ASN and IPv6 allocations, but RIPE typically requires membership fees as well, which could add to the overall cost. Additionally, there are some providers that specialize in offering these services at competitive rates, often with discounted or bundled offers.

As for the requirements, yes, in most cases, you will need to provide full personal details, including scans of your ID documents, as RIRs follow strict KYC (Know Your Customer) protocols to ensure the legitimacy of the request.

I'd recommend reaching out directly to providers and RIRs to get specific quotes based on your location and needs."
