Sending letters is only 1 euro. I just switched to that. Also sending voice messages thru USB sticks that way.
M$ Teams, Cisco Spaces, normal VoIP
Telegram/Discord might be the next option I suspect, since they at least allow usernames vs Whatsapp etc which are mobile# based.
Facetime, whatsapp video....
Slack for company stuff, but it’s not really a complete alternative, but for internal comms and SOME external (guests to a workspace) it’s great
I have no clue, we still communicate over this:
I see my Dr. every 3 months on zoom, it's rather nice.
Zoom almost does everything that Skype did, but the free tier is lacking.
Messenger Pigeon?

Zoom, Google Meet
ha that is awesome.
right, but what is one that is used wide spread like Skype is/was?
Rocket.Chat for internal?
solid thank you, checking this one out.
They even have a Skype Replacement Guide.
This + your CRM = bye Skype.
IRC for casual chats
Return To Office mandate, host in-person meetings.
Everyday check-in at 9.15am because who need chat?
It's called daily standup.
SCRUM teams have this short meeting everyday.
Widespread where?
In APAC, WhatsApp is more widely used.
I love sending rubber ducks in the mail!
You've never heard of CardDav?
Zoom and Discord seem pretty solid.
Discord
MS teams. The most complete integration if you use ms products. Otherwise just use matrix. Discord is for children, slack is for soyboys.
I still have 200$ in skype credit, don't know how to spend it until May
Signal, Threema, SimpleX
It’s private unlike Discord and Telegram.
This depends on how you use Skype - for public or internal communications. If it's for internal communications, there are many options. But if you want to continue communicating with your customers, then you should follow their preferences.
MS Teams. That’s what everyone switched to years ago. Telegram/Matrix are worth considering too. Anything but Discord/Whstsapp
