I am a student remember
I can't afford much
[well the let affect did come in this gc megathread where I can't even say how much I bought
]
I take responsibility for not being mindful enough on the initial purchase and not realizing it was non-refundable. However, I offered a totally reasonable win/win solution that would make everyone happy and they said no, which seems unreasonable to me.
Also, the checkout process sorely needs a lot of improvement. I've got suggestions but it would be a waste of time, there is no way they would implement any of it. And, maybe there are a lot of sadists masochists here that like wasting time and getting cock-blocked from deals during checkout and that is part of the fun for them but I'm not into it. If something is broken on their end, they should take responsibility and honor the offer.
Checkout is at the end of the puzzle
Making thay as a problem of the first part where you messed up is not their lookout .
Win win situation? Sure everyone wants thay. I am not sure what was the solution you proposed. But if they did cave, whole LET community would overburden the support team with changes.
Yes , the deals are tempting
Yes, we get the rush to get a service for discount
Yes, it's reasonable to grab the deal without thinking twice
No, it is not reasonable to expect the other party to change rules.
@ndtn personally mentioned they encourage reselling. But people end up abusing this system. That's why initially there was $0 transfer fee I think, it went up to $5 then, $10, later 30 days cooldown and currently with these special promos, no transfer/ changes allowed.
And to top it off, the headaches which they need to deal with due to chargebacks and all is another story.
Yes, it's not ideal. But some bad apples made the whole experience sour for everyone.
Worth
@Calin a discount on the $36 plan for a respected VIP like myself?
For you, just $69.69
already emgh!

@Calin give him a discount and I personally promise he will never share how much cpu steal he has
thats because you cant check the steal on a VPS that doesn't have uptime

All valid points. The intention with my bitching and moaning is not just to bitch and moan but also shed light on some things where there is room for improvement.
Bear in mind, a refund was not requested. I asked for a store credit, big difference. They keep the money, I might not even use the credit right away so resources aren't being used until something is purchased with the credit and they don't have an unhappy customer. That seems completely reasonable to me.
Maybe try again in a few days after things have cooled down.
Whether it will change, I don't think so.
Doesn't hurt to try.
Else let's pledge to be prudent and read whay we purchase 😅
Are we talking about the time that you got an error on the payment system when you tried to pay? If that’s the case are you sure your money is taken off from your account? Most of the time if order fails the money returns to your account in 5 business days or less.
This happens in any online payment system. I tried to buy GPU and my payment was declined yet they charged my card. And a day later money was returned.
Hunting idlers
No you can't, it was more asking whether @NDTN would consider an exception given the circumstances talked about earlier in this thread. But I think that's unlikely.
I'm sure there will be some more deals again soon (depending how the word 'soon' is defined), there are bound to be. I have put a ticket in to see if anything could be worked out, and it seems that we're waiting on the sales manager to come back to work on Monday. So all may not be lost for me in regard to getting a deal on a GC VPS.
But if anyone does have any idling VPS's that turn out to be transferable I would most definitely appreciate being on the list of possible recipients.
GreenCloud has been very generous with the offers. I want them to succeed and people to feel good about the experience, myself included. I'm very much a newbie with this flash deal thing, got a healthy dose of copium (both the fun frustrating kind and the wicked hangover kind). Thought it might be helpful to give an honest newbie UX perspective with the hope that it might be useful as constructive criticism. Besides, it feels good to vent once in a while.
LongLiveGreenCloud
No. The "Remote Transaction Failure. Please Contact Support" was a separate issue and I wasn't charged for that. I wish damn Stripe had just taken my money, I wanted to pay but couldn't. There were some other snafus encountered during checkout that I didn't bother whining about.
Hunting season has opened!
Yes
Yes
Also yes
It's once so much fun here
Are we stuck here forever now?
This is our purgatory. We are never leaving
Soon I’ll stop thanking posts to pretend that I’ve left
Lets get real. You know you won't.
Yeah I won’t
Time to start The MegaThread... Current ones are lacking deals.
🎶 Welcome to the Hotel GreenCloud 🎶
So, when does the offer extension week start?
