hetzner torrent question

  • im pretty sure tons of users torrent on hetzner. just be smart about it

  • Sup mate,

as a fellow man of culture my advise is: dont use torrents, use the usenet instead. Just invest like 50-80€ and you are good for a year. If you insist on using torrents, use a service like torbox. If you want we can talk in private, just PM me. Its really easy to setup things like sabnzbd in combination with authelia and shizz like filebrowser to download (if you need something with a graphical interface). Hetzer for my part did not care (usenet). As I was getting started with this stuff I had some problems with rclone and my VFS cache, resulting in 80-100TB of traffic each month. Hetzner FTW.

(I am talking about private copies of already owned movies )

Do not use public trackers. Private trackers shouldn't be an issue. I've seen a lot of hetzner peers while seeding.

  • Privates should be fine, DO NOT use publics

That website is notorious for being wrong. Anyone that actively torrent, check your IP and you'll realize probably about close to half of the listed stuff ain't stuff you've downloaded.

Or it can be the stuff your neighbor downloaded via your Wifi ;)

    Nope. It’s wrong.
