Wanted to mention this earlier, and weird flex incoming.. but the fact that I asked for a particular flash deal (AZ storage), about 5 times (I probably annoyed NDTN). Not once, but twice, he renewed it soon after (missed it the first time, got it the second). That’s pretty amazing in itself.

I have 36 instances with GC now, acquired over the last couple years. Even with support tickets -- when I haven't gotten the response I WANTED from them (usually pushing my luck, tbh), they've been receptive in less than 5m and responded with a clear and reasonable response, and I honestly love that.

Nothing, and I mean, nothing has been broken so far for me (outside of the wonky Debian 12 image they had for a while, and an couple temporary upstream network issues which every provider deals with). I may have been fortunate.

Well deserved Top Provider and we’re all lucky we voted them as such because this was one hell of a thread.

Are you using GC for production too?

  • damn, eventually no any promote code VPS got.

Let me read what I have missed... but I don't have much hope there will be any more deals though :joy:

when was the last deal even? anyone know?

I have a feeling the GC team is having a well deserved end-of-week party after hitting that 1M milestone and spinning what must be the densest spinning wheel in LET history.

Meanwhile, the relays are relaying and leaderboards are shifting with the new 400+ pound gorilla making a grand entry earlier today.

It's remarkably relaxing to be here today... feels nice just to hang out and not have to race for anything.

I hope thin dude (don't want to tag now) will post some interesting stats/facts about this thread when he gets a chance (and BEFORE closing this thread).

I don't have much stats on my hand either :joy:

How many other 1M+ threads do we have, post count wise where does this thread stand (in the 1M+ club), duration (8 days?)... just anything that will be a nice statistic summary before you formally close out the thread [so the it's there for posterity], including the broken thanks counter...

Let me see if I can trawl and grab somethings things (but I'm sure you can add/expand consideraby).

I swear to god if we get another thread in March that turns into megathread, my health will be Fucked with a capital F.

Blame the mastermind FAT32 for this.

Fine fine let me change the structure a little bit :joy: - I think we are all getting a little bit insane since last year November

It really turned into competition of who burns most money quickest

I freaking doubled my server count from ~70 to ~150 in this 4 months

Finally we have some real numbers and can end all speculation.

  • @doanhtien said: We have a new version of Debian 12 that has fixed this issue. You can try again in a few hours after the template synchronization is complete.

Would it be possible to also have an EXT4 version of the Debian 12 template?

I think currently it comes with XFS and XFS is not very convenient to resize (plus XFS is not the default FS that Debian uses).

    Thanks for the fixes.

i am a little curious about the sales by country, but can respect that this is info they're not privy to share.

Yes! I initially got a bunch of a budget-1 instances in various locations for service/performance monitoring. I ended up getting a 9999 MO instance and it turned out to be extremely dependable. I still use AWS lambdas for my APIs but run various other production projects on these instances now.
