I just ordered the 100GB deal, and having some trouble adding my first domain... I added all records indicated in the "Add New Domain" setup to my DNS host, but the domain keeps showing "Pending" status. If I click on the three-dots to the right and "DNS Setup Guide" it shows all DNS records as "Missing" (despite I can ping the mail host alias). Is there a way to force a DNS re-check?
It checks on every page refresh, but maybe there's some funny caching somewhere.
Ticket with the domain, I'll check it out.
Francisco
Just did - ticket 9206
Thanks!
Any chance to get a tag when EU is ready?
you will notice, because then all hell will break loose!
Another issue, I think I've seen it reported before... It takes quite a few minutes to receive an email. Now this normally shouldn't be a problem, but when using it for 2FA login, the codes are usually only valid for 10 minutes. So that delay cuts into this, and may lead to codes expiring before being received.
Any chance you could look into this again, or point me to a solution (if there is one) @Francisco? I did not disable / override the spam settings
TIA
IIRC this has been discussed before. Something about greylisting. The next time sender try to send email again, there shouldn’t be that much delay anymore. Or you can turn it off afaik.
Paging @NameCrane and @Francisco too just in case.
WHY DID YOU FORGET ME???
Yes it looks like on repeating the request for a 2FA code, it happened much quicker so perhaps greylisting was to blame. What's the usefulness of greylisting, what problem does it solve?
TIA
Old anti spam idea that’s more annoying than helpful these days.
Francisco
...
Thanks @Francisco, would you say turning SpamExperts ON is preferable to just using greylisting? Any downside to using SpamExperts, other than possibly false positives / negatives?
TIA
SE is very good, especially if you get a lot of junk.
Even if there's a false negative, you can go in and 'release' it, and train the system, that it isn't spam.
Francisco
FWIW, I've found that SE catches almost as much spam as the best of them, with pretty much zero false positives.
Certainly, I wouldn't hesitate to turn it on.
he seperates the bones from teh flesh!
OK, another one... When I first enabled 2FA in the CraneMail WHMCS portal, I was asked to provide a "recovery email". I foolishly chose an address that's in the domain I'm hosting here now, but the odd part is this address is nowhere to be found in the account security section of the portal (only the main one is). Is there no way to change this "recovery email" once set initially?
TIA
Open a ticket and let’s find out
I’m sure it is on my end.
Francisco
Done - ticket 9240.
Thanks!
I got one yesterday and tried to add some of my domains. Your system did not pick up the DNS records of one of my domains, which has been pending for nearly a day. I've tried removing and re-adding it, but it is still stuck in the pending status problem. It's frustrating. A ticked has been created #CRANE-9239. @Francisco
You should be good to go.
Francisco
Does it offer smtp api support?
Which I can use for transactional mails?
Which I can use for transactional mails?
There is an API.
We'd want to see what you're sending before hand.

Hi @Francisco. If I buy a lifetime one in the future when my finance is allow. Can I use it to send email notifications about my WordPress security to my personal Gmail account. If I happen to set one up in the future. Not email marketing, of course. Just email for WordFence security related.
Yes.
@Francisco can you please have a look at #CRANE-8478
We’ve made great progress with activesync support for everyone
we have rolled out all pf our changes so far:
NOTE: events (calendar related mostly) might take up to ~30s to propagate to your phone.
Known bugs:
This is not as feature complete as full activesync in Smartermail. It's not as fast (SM is probably near instant?), Contacts are being derpy, GAL search (when contacts are in there) is being a full on hater. It is free though, compared to the $4/inbox/year it'd normally be.
This is meant to be a 'pretty good' improvement over the default 15 minute IMAP timers Apple Mail does.
Enjoy!

Hi @Francisco I'm getting "Exchange Account - Unable to verify account information" upon trying to add an Exchange account to iOS. Used the MAPI / EWS password and email as both email and username. Some fields are optional (domain being one) but it didn't make a difference with or without. This worked when I added Exchange account to MacOS mail app yesterday
In this case use your IMAP password.
Francisco
Well, I'd rather use the Exchange protocol along with the goodies you just added
Any chance?
Right right. When you're adding the 'Exchange' account on your phone, put the username as
your@emailand for the password, use your IMAP password. It'll "just work". Don't use the activesync/EAS password inside of Smartermail. We're using z-push which does all of its blackmagic over IMAP on the backend.

Got it. Although I'm intrigued now, since I used the MAPI / EWS password yesterday and added 4 Exchange accounts in MacOS mail app (which are still working). Does it mean if I need to add one more account - I should use the IMAP password going forward, or is this trick only for iOS (but not MacOS)?
Sorry if I'm out to lunch on this one
