Yea, greencloud's Debian 12 template is broken which is why I always install manually.
netinstall is such a pain in the ass on Virtfusion node though as DHCP is not supported.

What's wrong with the Debian 12 template? I'm using it and haven't noticed any issues.

I usually do netinstalls anyway but I was too stupid to figure out the DHCP stuff

If you install Debian 12 on a GC system and do apt update, apt upgrade it'll segfault.

edit: I didn't even notice it worked on VF even though I've migrated a couple of my VPSes.

Virtfusion is likely their default template. Won’t have this issue.

Only the SolusVM Debian12 image is broken. VirtFusion version is fine.

After installing the system using the VirtFusion panel, it will automatically update itself to ensure it's up to date. If you manually update at this point, conflicts may occur, and the only options are to reboot or delete some files. However, I prefer rebooting, as deleting files can easily cause issues.

  • missed the storage one, so sad

  • There's other small annoyance here and there in Virtfusion such as ancient version of pre-included SystemRescue iso, outdated Arch Linux template and https only for custom iso download aka no fire up a python simple http server on other VPS and download custom iso from it

Overall VF is still a huge improvement over SolusVM.
Just hope DHCP and 3rd party VNC client support fixed and all SolusVM vodes migrated to VF one day.

  • Goooood morning.

Scrolling back looks like there was a good AZ storage deal last night.

He's a special MJJ. He gets access to special dealz for lots of people here including @FAT32 @beanman109 @emgh @crunchbits and a few other special admins. So they allow him to do many things.

Be very wary of him. He also has direct access to ChickenSeek and can summon an army on demand.
