My AZStorage-1 deal YABS that no one asked for:

is it possible to run the disk speed on the raid storage disk ?

Yeah I will do it in a moment, still fighting over the damn IPv6

    Just disable IPv6 in sysctl

You got the wrong one from Chicago. Ask them to double everything.

Looks geofeeds are not yet updated for AZ, but puzzled since it's not a "new" location.

With great power comes great responsibilities.

I think the universe has chosen you for something better

I wonder how he would fare against the MJJ army.

Here a ban there a ban everywhere a ban ban... @emgh had a tool yeah yeah yeah yeah!

I think he would be surprisingly effective.

It's a pity his skills haven't (yet) been harnessed.

    I'm quite optimistic though.

I think site’s revenue would decrease with me as admin and let’s be honest, that’s the ultimate loss.

You're partially right, but engagement would increase (and so would I assume the click throughs which may somewhat compensate)?

But yeah... there's no debating the less eyes logic.

Sure, but I already have to limit how much I seed so I don't blow through my bandwidth. Even behind a VPN I can seed 10+TB per month.

Yeah. I think the issue is more if you’re trying to download something that only has a few peers and you can’t connect to them that sucks. For larger torrents it’s no issue.

Not sure if there’s any stats online re. % of peers you’ll lose when not having a port forwarded IP. Would be nice knowing if it’s 10 % or 90 %.

Private trackers would be, well, more private. However, they usually have rules like you have to seed for a certain time, and maintain a ratio (upload:download). You do get better speeds and higher retention on the good private trackers though - so there's higher chance of finding, umm, a rare Linux ISO. (Basically there are rules in place in private trackers where members do have to contribute, so you have to put in some effort but do get things like better quality control, higher speeds, higher retention).

    Idea - let's try predicting WHEN we'll hit 600K. We're now at ~553K and it's ~UTC1310.

My prediction: maybe between 2030 and 2045 UTC we'll hit ~600K.

(of course we're allowed to revise).

I'll try to revise to within 5m in some time.

    Let's speculate.

    Revising. We're now at ~574K (+21K) and it's ~UTC 1800 (+5 hours).

Unless one of those bomb deals drop (unlikely), we're going to be slow.

New estimate: +9 hours - so UTC 0300 Hours to 0330 Hours hopefully we'll be at 600K.
