NameCrane is looking to hire new operators!
Hello everyone,

We're looking to hire 3 - 5 support techs to cover us ~24 hours, freeing Mike up to work on things like, I dunno, domains, as well as allow me to focus on development/product improvements.
Support tickets will be focused entirely on shared/reseller users. CraneMail related tickets will be handled by Mike & myself for the time being.
The perfect candidate:
- Deep experience with cPanel and Directadmin.
- Experience with Plesk would be nice if we ever decide to offer Windows based hosting (unlikely, but who knows)
- Good troubleshooting, debugging, and general problem solving skills. I need someone that can work at a problem, even if it means looking for ideas on stackoverflow.
- A good grasp of the english language. Other languages such as Spanish, Portuguese, & Chinese, would be a huge positive but not required.
- Strong experience with Linux is a must. Windows is a nice plus as well.
- Some understanding of networking (pings, MTR's, traceroutes, etc)
- Looking for long term, full time employment. Must work exclusively with us, or this must be your primary position and other positions don't conflict (can't work for other shared web hosts/email hosting companies)
- An autistics fascination with trains, but with cranes, is icing on the cake
Priority will be given to applicants who can cover PST (GMT -7) evening/overnight hours. ChatGPT replies to any tickets will be grounds for dismissal. No dispute.
You will be evaluated long term based on helpfulness and solved tickets, not the fastest response times just to bump the ticket.
Please PM me here, or email me at [email protected], with your resumes or just to talk things over.
Wage & perks to be negotiated in private.

7$/h?
@Calin
sorry this is a dealbreaker for me, best of luck though
Wage will be decided on a per applicant basis. Skill, where you're based, other perks you're asking for, etc.
Francisco
He'll probably have a hard time ringing $20,000 out of people that give us a hard time over charging $8/year for hosting.
Francisco
@MikePT
double the pay
@Francisco I would love to bro
You're welcome to send off a resume if you're serious
Francisco
Nah I will do the projects we discussed in DMs, I have no experience with cpanel or plex and I only speak 2 languages. I am not qualified. But I love you regardless
"Need a guy who can help to clear shared hosting tickets"
Do you like trains?
Francisco
YES, I LOVE TRAINS.
So if you tick all but never much bothered with any panels (other than Plesk actually for a bit) it's a no go ?
Well, if you don't have experience with DA/cPanel as an admin, it's a hard one. You didn't tick the first box then?
You're welcome to send a resume and explain. We're willing to train some, but we can't spend months doing that.
Francisco
I love using :
rm -rf *does it make me a good candidate? If you're our backups administrator...maybe?
Francisco
I believe in NameCrane!
Wishing your company continued success and happiness in all its endeavors!
In fairness, he didn’t use
--no-preserve-root! :PEdit #1: iOS keeps replacing double dashes with —
Edit #2: "Boss, I just saved us $1000/month on storage!"
Tagging @neste1 and @Devsom
How many hours a day and how many days a week?
Probably 8 hours, 5 days a week. Standard full time (for North America anyway).
Francisco
Wish I could go back to my university days, so I would have more time.
Damn, I would apply since I had no luck since I got my com sci degree in May, I don't tick check box 1.
They’re not hard to learn, just depends on your willingness to learn them.
Francisco
I only fit this criteria sadly (no offense)
