About DDOS VPS

Hello,

Can you recommend a provider where we can customize ports that provide OVH gaming protection? for vds or vps. Uptime should be good. We will run Teamspeak

You can also recommend different companies with higher level protection and higher uptime.

Additionally, in case of local attacks, it would be better for us if the attacking server automatically shuts down.

What does this mean, you want your server to shutdown in case of a ddos?

also @SilverCreek has some nice gaming vpses, maybe he can provide more info

We have filters specifically for TeamSpeak, and we have two options for mitigation - standard network (6Tbit/second) or premium network (200Tbit/second). All filters are stateful. Shoot us a message or open a ticket, we'll figure something out for ya

An attack made by an attacker using the same internet network by purchasing a virtual server from a company from which you receive virtual server service is a local attack.

That's a thing? And it's that popular enough that you have to be worried about it?

Man online gaming is ruthless :D

If someone buys a server from OVH and attacks, their server will be shut down immediately. We need something like this too

What you want isn't possible with OVH.. internal attacks have been a problem since OVH's inception. There's no way to prevent it except not using OVH.

I couldn't understand what he meant. Could you be a little more descriptive?

I was replying to your original post. You want an OVH server where, if you get attacked, the attack source server will be magically stopped. That's not possible. OVH abuse just forwards abuse to the clients. It'll take 1-7 days for an attack from an OVH server to stop hitting your OVH server.

  • I think you misunderstood me. If you rent a virtual server from OVH's site and make a ddos attack, your server will be suspended after 1 second. (ovh.com) Isn't this possible if OVH Game servers use OVH infrastructure?

It just depends on the traffic you sent. It's easy to take down another server on OVH especially if it's a small VPS. You can send a TCP/SYN flood and overload the OS/services. OVH's automatic IP block for attacks only really happens for UDP attacks sent from one of their servers.

If attacks are a big concern you need more resources really too. A bigger server with more cores will handle an attack towards a service better than a single core server. Most problems stem from SYN attacks, not UDP, ICMP, etc.

  • OVH has excellent DDOS protection, what are you talking about?

He is mentioning internal attacks. OVH doesn't filter internal traffic, thus you can send a DoS from a single OVH server to take down another OVH server easily.

We are using @RoyaleHosting for teamspeak 3 and are happy with the uptime and protection.

  • @RoyaleHosting has fantastic protection, big recommend.

  • What is the attack rate? It seems you need a firewall with dedicated role definitions.
