AHHH LONELINESS 🫠
Gents, I have a weird issue that I have been noticing for several months now. A laptop I have has 40GB of ram ie 8+32. I have paging filed disabled . The available ram after the graphics is 35GB.
As soon as I start touching 20~21GB of ram, mostly occupied by firefox, etc the browser tabs start crashing
I have tried to tweak memory settings in firefox to no avail.
I have also checked the ram and there are no issues, can anyone put a finger on it ? Its windows 11
there is your problem.
Ok, I have on multiple occasions tried to permanently switch to ubuntu desktop but its just so hard... Things dont work out of the box most of the times and there are just so many programs missing of which there are dozens of equivalents on windows ....
Maybe it's the browser/ extensions.
Try using a different one like brave/ edge and see how it goes.
Yeah if you are using firefox then try a chromium based browser (I recommend Vivaldi), if it's Chromium based then try firefox. Do you have any extentions that would periodically do something on opened pages?
Linux Mint (Ubuntu based) is good at making things work out of the box, then Windows inside VirtualBox for if you still need it
No guarantee switching OS is going to solve your problems.
windows gets a bad rep
But it does what it's supposed to in 99% of use cases very well.
Agreed, it gets the job done. Frankly apart from this minor issue I have no other complaints. The only benefit I see to using a linux desktop is I guess the learning value in it.
Will try linux mint inside virtualbox one day
Zero extensions, I am paranoid about them! I am always fearful of a rogue extension stealing my cookies, data, pwds , etc
I do have some extensions on chrome which I use rarely.
Dunno about you bruddah
M done learnin
Now it's whatever makes my life easy
Got this in the mail today.
Thanks @dustinc
Ain't no party like a RackNerd party

This year nothing.
I mean its already set for like 4 years
, what more do you need also digirdp has like nearly 6 years free with the $ 20 credits WHAT MORE DO YOU NEED

WHY IS THIS THREAD STILL ALIVE [ @FAT32 SLEEPING IG
]
All tabs active? if it's similar to mine I am trying zen browser a fork of firefox but with arc browser browser interface and I am enjoying it greatly especially the auto tab sleep. Hardly goes beyond 4-5GB if I keep working on it for an entire day. Also, the tab crashing might be related to high CPU load and the dead lock that comes after. I haven't seen my tabs crashing although my firefox going beyond 25GB of constant usage for two days, so it does look like we are missing something entirely.
try to enable a Ad-blocker, ads can use a lot of memory
U r keeping a nice tab 🤣🤣
Man, I tried so hard to get them but UPI gateway broke my heart I was soooooo sad
then I saw you texted on the giveaway which also I didn't win
with the comment upar wala deta hai to chappar phad ke deta hai
[But I won one giveaway from ralf, the $12 vps I dunno If I will renew it cause its just 1GB of RAM ]
That's rough
my own experiences were pretty much the same until the last 2 years & in my mind that denay wala song from the hera pheri movie keeps playing in the background whenever I think about it 🤣🤣
