2 GB XEN HVM or 1 GB KVM on SSD ?

Hi,

Which one will give more performance for running MYSQL/ PHP based sites.

1st Option

XEN HVM
2 GB Ram
30 GB Raid 10
2 CPU

2nd Option

KVM
1 GB Ram
30 GB Raid 10 on SSD
2 CPU

Price is same.

  • The SSD will give better performance, since you wouldn't really run out of RAM if your DB isn't too big.

SSD for heavy MySQL usage for sure. Although you van make it wat more memory, I/O is usually the bottleneck.

    hi @praveen

As i can see you want to test XEN HVM with above specs let me know, i can put you on 7 days test.

Well the answer is both, the question is how you configure mysql :) Ram is faster than SSD so depends how big your DB is and how well written things are.
