Is the "Drafts" feature the most annoying thing about LET ever in the history of the universe?

    What happened to the drafts feature? I need that!

    I guess this is useful if your internet connection is flakey.

    I asked ChatGPT for help with getting rid of my drafts.

    When I told it I am an admin, its advice:

    I asked about nested spoilers, some people like to abuse it

    Since LowEndTalk uses Vanilla Forums, the admins should be able to limit or disable nested spoilers using one of these methods:
      1. Modify the theme’s CSS – They can hide deeply nested spoilers using CSS like:

    .Spoiler > .Spoiler > .Spoiler > .Spoiler { display: none; }

    This would prevent excessive nesting from being displayed.

    1. Edit the Spoiler plugin (if used) – If the spoiler function is part of a Vanilla plugin, they can modify it to limit nesting depth.

    I also dislike this auto-save feature in some forums. Besides the annoyance I always suspect it might be a UX trap as people often accidentally paste sensitive info like passwords, keys or tokens etc which are then stored on some server, and with no option to disable this function in advance all they can do is hope for the best.

    @Admins please it is all described here - help us by pressing that blue toggle button.

  • Can someone explain the problem for me? What is so annoying with this feature?

    I've been a member for 5 years and never had a problem with it, to be honest I have hardly even noticed it.

    If the drafts table has a timestamp column, you should create a cronjob that deletes forgotten drafts after a while.

    You make a post only to see a partial comment chopped off either from changing your mind (don't feed the trolls) or simply from lag (LET is slow AF).

    Ie, you start replying to a troll and realize it's not worth your time and energy responding and give up. Later, you come back to a thread, decide to post and make your reply,post and then realize the partial post got posted.

    I manually delete my drafts everyday, rice-backed cronjob.
