    Enya is on the top of my list for... ah it hurts to say, decades ago.

    I enjoy the horse racing in the forest, where there are white and black horses. It's hard to imagine how they manage it at that moment.

    Just talking about the screen versions and not novels, and without the last season of GoT.

    • LotR is more of an Adventure/Fantasy whereas GoT has a lot more added politics and drama.
    • I liked more characters from the GoT world, but the main villain is better in the LotR universe.
    • LotR also has a better arc (start to end). Who knows how great an LotR show would've been.
    • There are more characters with redemption stories in GoT than in LotR, which I like.
    • The last season of GoT really hurt the series, they did not do the character of Night King full justice. He could've been a top 10 Fantasy villains.

    I'm happy that both exist. :)

    💯 agree. Both are not apples to apples comparison

    But both stand out in their own way (like you said barring last season of GoT)

    I felt the LOTR screen and novels were easy to follow along compared to GoT.

    I am a big fan of Audio books and they bring out a different level of entertainment. The voice/ audio come together and paint a beautiful picture in your minds.

    I didn't find it as captivating with GoT novels. Maybe a newer narrator is available 🤔

    But all in all, both stand well.

    I think GoT had more iconic scenes/episodes than Lotr but the overall experience of Lotr is untouchable.

    Basically all episodes directed by Miguel Sapochnik were the absolute top of TV: The gift, hardhome, battle of the bastards, the winds of winter
