Welcome to the club. Indian Govt. banned AliExpress a few years ago. Package delivery via other routes was disrupted for a short while, as well, but resumed pretty quick.
Guess US will resume it soon as well.

Seems like this will just result in sellers in China using private carriers (UPS, FedEx, DHL, etc)? So just results in a higher shipping cost, and more profit for private carriers.

Several years ago large chinese stores were both openly offering multiple different carriers at checkout (HK Post, Singapore Post, etc. - e.g. FastTech was doing that) and using international post services weirdly - I was getting packages from Mongolia Post, Netherlands Post, some baltic country post, and so on.
Heard about people getting mail from Azerbaijan and Georgia post.
