Seen it multiple times, also seen a couple people from those regimes who complained their VPS was down but it was their government blacklisting a whole /24 I think that was Iran.

Yep, and that's why I ask my question. I don't mind people blaming providers when they have a good reason for it. When the cause is different, or it is their own fault or unresponsiveness, it's not good for a provider when that isn't said.

Doesn't mean there where no real problems.

I'm a customer of this provider too, and yes, there were some issues. But they've been taken care of in a good manner. I don't recognize the complaints myself, but hey, it can be that I'm the "n=1" but it can also be that someone else (with complaints) is the "n=1".

Just for us, followers of this thread, when did you answer the ticket?

I mean, @alexmk is member of this forum since november, and most of his contributions have been in this thread complaining. I'm wondering if he has got a point, or if he just likes to complain here before checking his ticket(s).

I've got another VPS and there are no problems with it. No problems at all. But this one is extraordinary bad (at least for me). It didn't work normally more than a week since november. The last one problem is that I couldn't connect to the VPS for 4 days. @Chunkserve answered me today but I still can't connect.

Now you're at least making the remark "at least for me". That's something different as "It looks more and more like a scam-project." which is quite a accusation...

    No, not the same provider.
I believe that there are clients of this provider who are doing well. I also understand that everyone has problems. Problems are normal. But when problems follow one after another - it is not normal. At first, my connection to the VPS was lost almost every day. Once a day I had to reboot the VPS. The provider did not solve this problem, he says that everything is fine. Ok, I put up with it. Then the provider's site was unavailable (apparently due to an attack). Ok, I understand. The last 4 days, my VPS was offline and I could not even turn it on. Today, support wrote that they solved the problem, but the problem is still not solved. Now I can turn on and reboot the VPS, but I do not have access to it through SSH.

At the moment, I have not received normal service here. They took my money and in return I only got promises of normal work. What is this if not a scam?
Can you tell me your server name?

What exactly do you actually mean by "can't connect"? Is the VPS shown as running in the panel? Does VNC work in the panel to get to the console? What kind of troubleshooting have you done?

Last 4 days my VPS status was offline. I couldn't start it neither the panel on the site and Virtualizor. Now VPS is online but I can't connect to it through ssh (I can't even write username and password, I see only black screen, than I get a network error (connection timed out)).

A scam is intentional, and your situation doesn't look intentional to me.

Can you tell me your server name?

You mean node? I think that if the node was the issue, more complaints would be raised here about it.

Personally, what I've seen here about how issues are responded to, Chunkserve is reasonable. Also if the issue is with them I've seen them compensate for it in the past.
In his case I'd just refund your money and part ways - what I read here from you is only telling me that you won't be satisfied and if solved and continued, every minor issue that comes along in the future will lead to drama.

Also, I'd advise you not to use big words and generalising issues while it seems it is more or less isolated.

And yes, I've had my "bad experiences" in the past also - sometimes they were due to the provider, and sometimes it was a mismatch between myself and the provider. That all can happen in the LETworld...

  • Also it's worth remembering that (like most of the VPSes here), this is an entirely unmanaged VPS.

  • At the moment the problem was solved.

And now? We detected issue and mitigated the impact. Since some time there are no new servers there, so it's not issue with that. We probably received some kind of application layer attack on one of the nodes - that caused high CPU usage by the process. After alert from monitoring system, we fixed that! :)

I think You got it wrong :) We have own monitoring solutions informing Us about High IO's, abnormal CPU usage, or anythink like that. When You wrote a ticket, I replied instantly that we need 5 minutes - and around that it was fixed! :) If you ever need anything, let me know!

Is there a reason I found my server unresponsive today and when I now ping my server IP I get no response and traceroutes never reach the server? On top of that, the server is online and accessible via console, however, has no network accessibility outbound either? I can't even ping the default route.

I haven't received any communications from you about any network issues, about changing my IP or anything that would indicate I should be expecting a change or my server to not work, so what is going on here?

    my 2 cents.

    Cheers!

    Hi!
Hope you're having a great day!

We do not have any network issues nor are planning to change the IP address of any vm instance. May you please shoot me a ticket/DM and we will look into that?

    Thanks,
    Wojciech

10% CPU Steal for almost 2 hours now. I've hold myself in from entering a ticket or complaining, but if you really have monitoring in place you should have got an alert. So don't tell me I got it wrong when this proves otherwise.

Also wondering what the excuse was for the outage/restart this afternoon...

You've had the benefit of the doubt with previous issues, I think I (and others) have been patient, but you really got to start to deliver a constant service that can be trusted.

  • I've been a very happy customer so far, but today I've had 3 reboots. What is going on? My server has started at 04:29, 14:17 and 15:57 UTC. The downtime at 04:29 seems to have been short, the downtime at 14 seems to have lasted around an hour and around 30 minutes for the downtime around 16

Hey, do you know approximately when are you going to have them in stock again? Are you going to give away some special packages again like New Years deals? Probably I need 1 more VPS ^^

As informed on status, one of the nodes crashed 3 times cause of hardware fail. It is now replaced and we're monitoring everything. CPUsteal issue should also resolve in a moment (disabled cores). If anything happenes, I'm here to help You!

Hi, where is that status page? I've not found it. As for cpu steal, I've not had any noticable issues with that, but good to know you are on top of it

  • @Chunkserve said:

    What status? Where status?

Looking in the customer area, I see "News/Announcements" ->no announcements to display. "Network Status" -> "There are no Network Issues Currently". O wait, there is a status page on status.chunkserve.com. That's new to me - also not linked from the customer area.

Anyway: "Date Created: 2025-02-04 16:53:33 (4 hours ago)". Issue was over 6 hours ago.

CPUsteal issue should also resolve in a moment (disabled cores). If anything happenes, I'm here to help You!

After 3,5 hours. And still saying that you monitor everything, but actions are made quite some time after customers point out there is an issue.

Don't try to say that you monitor everything - it may be so, but if you don't act upon it only after customers complain (even taking into account a couple of hours to see if you act upon it)... it doesn't show that you monitor everything.

As said before: I'm with you now over a month and haven't got a sequence of 5 days or more without issues - and issues as in "outage".

    Hi!
Your server is live-migrated to another node to mitigate any impact. Please let me know in ~5minutes if everything is fine.
The problem is strctly regarding to the hardware - we thought it can be CPU-related. Some cores were also disabled due to our investigation and it could cause the abnormal usage. We will be completly swapping the node and live-migrating all the servers, and after that it will be diagnosed without impacting any live services.

  • trash. 3 reboots just today. another VPS I wont renew.
