Please be aware that all of our providers, along many hops, throttle down ping traffic. You will always see some ping packet loss, but other protocols flow fine.

This is especially true for our provider's connections to China networks, which are constantly been used as source for DDoS attacks...

Do you throttle ping that come every 5s because that's the interval set. I also did a 10s interval, not very much different. TCP has self correction, not gonna be a problem in just 1% drop. UDP is wild wild west.

I am not referring to just China, a lot of locations has 1-2% drop.

hmm I just ran that test to the IP on your screenshot and seems ok?

    https://i.ping.pe/b/I/img_bItCTmXG.png

64.235.43.60 is our looking glass server. Perhaps it was heavily busy at the time... we will check on that.

I also ran a test with ping.pe to another IP in Singapore and the result is 0% across the board.

That's 33 tries. Run with dense mode for up to 200 tries. 1-2% is like 1 or 2 drop every 100 tries. I just tested it again, definitely less locations with drop but still many locations so yes, peak hour is worse. Hope to see the routing table optimized to avoid congested route.

  • For a brief moment, serverpoint SG upstream changed to pure Telstra and most of the icmp packet losses disappeared. Now, it back to PCCW/Telstra blend and icmp packet losses reappeared. :(

I believe the team has taken care of this. Your server is now at the right location?

Hello, I have ordered a LET2 VPS for $100/year. And have paid with a credit card with invoice number #823783. How long should I wait for the VPS that I have ordered because in the client dashboard there is no information or display of the VPS that I have ordered. and my account has been suspended without any confirmation. the problem is the email sent by the provider is late and I have registered an account with the same email so I can't log in to the client area. sorry for my bad english.

  • Hi, I ordered an LET-DISK1 plan and paid via PayPal. However, I can't log-in to the customer portal, saying the user can't be found or suspended. I also didn't receive an email receipt even though the amount has been deducted to my PayPal already.

Here's the last 5 characters of the transaction: bc444

Can you DM me the email address associated with the order? We can't find a PayPal transaction number ending with that...

Actually, I think I did find your order, and it was activated earlier. Let me know if you have not received those details.

  • @serverpoint I, too, had a less-than-clear initial sign-up process. All is fine now, but I'd suggest you adjust it so that customers get registered with, and the "Welcome to Serverpoint.com helpdesk" email sent to, the email address they used to sign up and not the email address they used for billing/PayPal. :)

    Thanked by 1serverpoint

Do you need bandwidth? RAM? Disk space?

BGP Multihoming: At all of our locations

    • Network port is limited to 1.2gbps; disk I/O is limited to 1.2GB/s in order to minimize "bad neighbor" issues.

Can I have a BGP session?

What if I actually need bandwidth? The monthly transfer limit and port speed limitation is a double-restriction.. The monthly transfer limit should fix the 'bad neighbor issues' no?

What happens if the transfer limit is exceeded?

I am not sure I understand... are you asking if we have a service that is unmetered?

The data transfer limit is not a forced limit. A user can go over it, thus possibly causing problems to other users if the port wasn't also limited.

As for a BGP session, can you give me more detail about that? A BGP session to where? To our routers, so that you can advertise your own subnet?

    No.

Personally, I would be happy with a 10/20 TB monthly transfer limit, even enforced in some way.. Actually need bandwidth though.. A 1.2 gbps limit, personally, I've lost all interest.

    Yes.

I understand. Sorry... we have always provided virtual servers with a 1gbps port.

I will make a note of your username and will let you know if we ever change that. Thanks for asking!

We do have 10g, 40g and 100g ports available with our dedicated servers though.
