Shame the backpack is US only, I actually really liked the look of them. But I guess I don't really need more bags, so it's maybe a good thing to take the credit after all.

What is it equivalent to in credits?

    $25

    2 years of a VPS

    Yes :)
Now I also need to win the 2027 NY thread so i can renew it for free :D

  • We reached 1010 huh

I would've loved the merch as well. Would look dope.

Now I have the chance to try them for free so I'm not complaining. Virmache is having issues so I need a replacement in LA :)

I think you'll be pleasantly surprised at the stability and speeds, especially at this price point. I've had servers in almost every one of their data centers, and I've never had an issue. Virmach is also my other main provider, hope my sync server stays up. :D

I'm ready to be amazed. Them (RN) being loud always put me off in trying their services. I usually stay a long time with a provider if they're stable so could be the start of a long relationship :)

I have 12 services with virmache. Am a long time client. Some issues over the years but nothing not to be expected at their pricing.

I currently have 3 services for which I can't even get to the control panel so that's rather annoying as they're actually new purchases. My oldest VMS are quite stable tbh. We'll see if they survive another year :).

I can understand that, RackNerd certainly has a....different approach to marketing. I was a long time lurker here at LET, even before my account creation, just quietly buying servers, and it was the RN threads that got me to actually participate.

Loooong time loyal customer to Virmach too, and will continue to be, but RN got me hooked with the stability and customer service after I got past, and obviously embraced, the chaos.

One thing about RN being loud and boisterous and highly communicative is that culture seems to have penetrated the Support Culture. I wouldn't recommend RN on performance; their service is fine but not stellar in my opinion: where RN really shines is in support. You can write support at 3am on a sunday during a holiday weekend and get a response in minutes for a service you won. They really don't get enough credit for the amazing support they deliver. It's exceptional at any price point much less for $1<month

When I setup my new VPS in Los Angeles, I wrote support to add an IPv6 and got an answer back within just a few minutes (it was done).

Did you have to pay for ipv6?

If memory serves, ip6 is free via ticket but only available in LA.

  • @Beniskickbutt said: Did you have to pay for ipv6?

No, it was free. I think it's available only in Los Angeles and France. Also, it's not a whole /64, it's just a single IPv6 address. You can get multiple assigned, up to a limit, though.

  • Roughly half an hour left on the closure of the Provider poll for the year. Hope everyone has already voted for their favourite provider.
