This certainly is an interesting idea. One maybe issue i think we have is you sometimes Might get into a case where the people who are in prize range are just too far ahead of everyone else that new comers might not want to even attempt to join in..
I kinda like the idea of a post per day gets you a raffle drawing entry. Sorta like gleam without gleam. Its still a little spammy but more limited.
The other benefit is that if conversations occur outside of your time zone, everyone still has a pretty equal chance of participating

That's an interesting concept and I could see it working, especially with reducing the crazy post count to get to the top just because it guarantees a specific prize.
For example, I'm just sitting at #7 on purpose just for a backpack. At some point I'll have to slow down on commenting if I bump up, because I don't want that prize, so yeah that could make things more organic.

Im going to spin it up on another one of my racknerd vps, specifically one that I won in a flash sale and i've been applying all the lifetime upgrades to whenver i win them. I dont think i could convience all my friends to move off our minecraft server though and I dont want to risk splitting the limited population we have..
