Trust me when I say that was a single persons opinion and it is not shared by many, if any at all. You do a great job and most of us really do appreciate it, sorry if we haven't made that clear.
yes, aiming for day one. Hopefully is not too expensive. I like my switch, missed out a few years , same sentiment like @jar .
On that topic, I've been going back to gameboy and snes. Did you played those?
So is food.
@jar
With regards to your latest announcement of WLA1 Server IP Renumbering, will this affect the lifetime plans who have a dedicated IP too?
A couple of years ago Miguel was offering 5 big lifetime plans with dedicated IP included in Los Angeles. I am curious if you will honor those with a dedicated IP moving forward, or if you will remove that feature altogether.
It will. I was unaware anyone had a totally free dedicated IP but I hadn’t spent much time looking at it. My plan was to put everyone on shared IPs and just cancel any billing for them. So I guess I’ll need to send a custom message for those specifically, thanks for making me aware.
I got a Gameboy Advance modded with a backlit IPS screen, rechargeable battery, and USB-C port. Still an original board, no emulation going on, just modded. Everywhere I go if things get boring I’ve got Pokémon Fire Red in my pocket 😂
One can also use a Raspberry Pi on a Retroflag GPI Case.
That’s pretty cool actually
Sorry to further derail the thread, but now you've peaked my curiosity! Did you modify the GBA yourself?
I wish. I kind of miss the days of tinkering with hardware but my gaming time is so limited already, I confess that I took a shortcut: https://handheldlegend.com/collections/game-boy-advance-gba-consoles
Emulation is way cheaper but I already had a stack of carts I want to play, and it just never gets quite as true to the original device (mostly because no one ever makes a display in the exact right size, though Anbernic got really close with the one they modeled after the GBA).
Thanks for the clarification, yes, I think it's fair and these free dedicated IPs can be costly too.
Some of the dedicated ip’s have been removed, I lost mine during the handover. Doesn’t bother me as my account has nothing on it
I also migrated my data as soon as the announcement was made. I am following this story though because I am curious to see what Jarland decides for this project in the long term. With this business saving last year, I am guessing the idea of going into the hosting industry is tickling Jarland's mind. Anyway, this is a nice story to bookmark.
Following the off-topic, but I have this exact setup (and game!). I got an older GBA and got parts to do it myself.
It's great to go back to games I played many years back!
@jar I have this issue as I had a dedicated IP and now had a bunch of clients go down. Any help would be appreciated.
WLA1? Everything should be working fine on the new IPs: https://myw.pt/manager/announcements/3/WLA1-Server-IP-Renumbering.html
I imagine the DNS cluster is still syncing because apparently DA syncs one domain per minute so 9000 minutes it is. But I mitigated that with some manual actions.
Isn't he saying he has a separate dedicated IP, not the shared one that's posted on the status page?
There are currently no dedicated IPs, only shared. We might offer dedicated IPs in the future when re-launching the brand, but for now the name of the game is keeping it all simple and running without unnecessary overhead.
Hey @jar,
Just a suggestion, the last time you said you will email those who purchased dedicated IP lifetime already, maybe it's a good idea to do this so it's clear for all!
Btw... The IP on https://myw.pt/manager/announcements/3/WLA1-Server-IP-Renumbering.html is "104.231.221.20" but the IP on panel is "104.238.221.20" ?
Is this a confirmation that you will be keeping the service alive?
Unless some unforeseen circumstance changes things, that is the plan.
Is it safe to move back in or is there still uncertainty in the future?
It’s not receiving the love and care that would make me host on it. It’s mostly the recipient of reactive action. I don’t know how that compares to what it was before, but it’s still going to be a bit before I’m personally proud of it. MXroute is still the priority of everyone involved. I’m not gonna mislead anyone, it’s fine-adjacent.
Thanks, I was scratching my head what I was doing wrong.
Softaculous free version is not allowing to install WordPress. I think to upload files manually.
WLA1? Just updated IP on the license if so.
Thank you so much..
Is DA accessible to anyone? For wde1
