What distro/specs/webserver for ClientExec?

raindog308raindog308 Administrator, Veteran

Since RackNerd (@dustinc) gives away free ClientExec licenses, I was thinking of spinning up an instance to test it out and maybe write a tutorial.

What distro is best?
And what CPU/RAM specs?

Obviously I'm not going to have hundreds of customers banging away on it, but I also don't want to run into oddball errors.

I understand it runs on Apache which I haven't used in...a very long time. Does it play well with Nginx?

Comments

  • dunno bout the distro but more the specs better the performance right [I don't mean to install it on a dedicated server]

  • System requirements: https://docs.clientexec.com/en/article/system-requirements-yl750s/

It didn't mention minimum server requirements but as it's PHP+MySQL based, 1-2GB ram should be enough I guess

nginx + fastcgi and Mariadb also if you are on RN e5v4 VMs the clientexec will be slower compared to newer processors there's just lots of processing happening there and clientexec itself is not as polished as WHMCS or blesta in terms of performance. Although i am waiting for them to release that most anticipated v7 to see if it's workable or not.

Edit: I do like the new client side interface and it's lot better compared to the older releases in terms of speed and layout.
