From their website, it looks like Racknerd has a Singapore presence for Dedis and Shared Hosting.. hopefully, VPS will come real soon.

Hopefully.... RN doesn't have their own network might be one of the reason for their SG vps delay. Come to think of it do you have any rough idea about IRINN ipv4 subnet pricing?

    IRINN? No idea.
Better to get from IPXO if (and only if) it's for hobby stuff.

Instead of RIPE I am thinking of getting an ASN and IPv4 subnet from IRINN sometimes in future maybe next year. The pricing seems good enough for now with ASN + /24 ipv4 and /40 ipv6 for around 40K INR annually..... Will need to figure out my finances by then some how....

40K for all those is not bad at all. Do you know how much an ASN alone would cost from IRINN?

For RIPE, ASN alone would be $75-100/yr, depending on the LIR you choose.
If you are lucky, you may find /24 v4 for around $1000-1200, at the cheapest. /40 is stupid cheap; I'd be surprised if it was charged more than $50/yr. But yea, still that would be around a Lakh..

I believe IRINN doesn't do standalone ASN and if they do it would be included in their membership fee of 25K, and i just checked again the annual fee for /24 + /40 is around 30K I will ask my ISP about these to make sure everything. RIPE is no longer viable especially since they are running out of subnets as for those leasing the subnet from a LIR is costly compared to same with IRINN also I can just pay 1k and have access to nixi operated internet exchange points the port pricing seems different though.

Very interesting - let us know how it goes :)

Will I need to figure out the ISP license or something apparently some says I need to be a registered ISP before opting for a subnet from IRINN, honestly I doubt that as corporates have their own network without being an ISP(some are sponsored by ISPs but not all). Will have to look many other aspects and maybe just maybe if everything goes accordingly I might do ipv6 tunnels in public interest..... If it can happen or not... Only time will tell.

Man, everything here is going above my head

Basically TrK is the only one doing real projects here is what it sounds like xD

My projects are all in the backlog.... Resources and some regional limitations don't let me finish them. Some are scraped and some are just in the middle of getting approved for a payment gateway. I wonder why stripe won't let me onboard on their platform nowadays.

Already onto the next project i see xD

Yes but this one is basically pre-made. Shouldnt be that hard to setup.

true.. that does remove like 99% of the work!

Yes. Openwebui does like 99% of the work

Still gonna be resource intensive unless ofcourse if you are not hosting a large model.

  • I missed page 969 😭

  • It's page 970 already

I hope you are talking about 32 billion pages... i can only get so excited :)

  • @TrK read the whole convo but like 256 ipv4 address and trillions of ipv6 does sound exciting, its just that I don't have money or else would have sure been interested to buy one [even though I don't any use for these now], and this also includes ASN right?

    Whats that count Blazin?

    Notifs... Make them +2 now.....

    Are those Ben's ? or Blazin's?

    I cleared mine out :(

I figured it was time, Blazin is showing us how high it can go ;)

Ha ha. Clicked notification icon by mistake?

naw i just finally did it :( I figured i may be missing some importatnt notifications. It is very easy for it to start racking them up again. Didnt want to miss any tags on a GA or something and things seemed to slow down a bit here

Thats right. Did you have any important notifications btw like GAs from other threads?

nah, nothing yet, still finding it hard to keep up with the notifications though.

I was on when they did the $5/y racknerd giveaway in the polling thread. I was completly oblivious to the clues fat and dustin dropped here before the giveaway happened though. Was going to try to do my best to not miss something like that again if it came up in my notifications. I dont think i was tagged though so it may not help

That $5 was great deal, esp for the racknerd gang if someone managed to grab it.

@xpress7 here are the avg ping from my JIO mobile internet.

    Homelab: 72ms
    NCR node: 60ms
    HYD node: 160ms
    SG node: 195ms

Those are too high, esp for something in our own country.

That kind of money neither do I have...... Also i am just looking into it as being a tech advisor there is just too much to learn about ever changing needs. Well I am also interested in getting one subnet for my homelab the requirements and pricing structure needs to be thought out perfectly as well. Will see next year if I am able to achieve that or not.

    these ones aren't very great

Thank you Chi for making me relieve the horrible experience I had using those pilers(?). I thought it was all behind me now but it appears it has come back from the grave to haunt me :( I still need to find a way to buy those automatic ones instead. I dont know if I can justify the price yet though given how little i acutally need to use them though.. The experience with these pliers were tramautic enough though that I might just need to do that...

if you have a harbor freight tools near you, then they have a generic set of those automatic ones for a lot cheaper price - I think you may be able to order online from them too

Harbor Freight is like Toys R Us for adults. That store is amazing.

    Yes, it's an awesome store!

now i kind of just want to go there just to see all the cool stuff they have around there

I would highly recommend it - harborfreight.com to find your nearest retail store
