Ways to show logo on gmail?

For non-gmail email addresses, other than using Google Workspace or expensive BIMI stuffs, how can I show my logo/profile picture on gmail?

Comments

  • iirc you can sign up with your email address without Gmail, and set the profile picture of that account.

  • It looks like you need to register for a Google account with your current email: https://www.reddit.com/r/beehiiv/comments/1fiu5t3/complete_guide_how_to_add_a_sender_avatar_to_your/

In other words, it's like when you create a new gmail account but you select that you want to use your current email address, then you upload a profile photo to that account.

Is there any other universal method to display a profile picture besides BIMI?

I didn't try it myself yet, but according to what I read, there's no need to pay anything. You just need to upload the photo and configure everything properly.

The primary question is support though - whether the recipient's software will display your picture (and aware of BIMI at all) is completely beyond your control.

    P.S.
Just in case, also try setting a Gravatar picture for your email. Who knows, maybe there's an email client supporting that?

  • Bimi is more than DNS record. Basically you have to have "copyright" to your logo and whatnot to be fully displayed for example by Gmail. Not worth it unless you are big enough player/company
