    Where/how are y'all storing your backup/archive data?

I need to figure out a better solution. I dont put important data on a VPS, i have a bunch of pet projects running on mine and the data isnt important, the code is but I get that backup via bitbucket..

I Was thinking of getting another backup NAS for my NAS at my home setup, but at that point maybe i should just get better offsite/cloud storage

    Thanked by 1BasToTheMax

I am currently doing it on the server itself. Looking into automated local backups as well right now

Local backups are kind of pointless. If your drive fails, you lose it all anyway.

Backup to a remote server. If you want really simple, just use rsync. Not borgbackup is good and doesn't require learning much more - you just need another machine that you can ssh to that has the program installed as well. I use it for all my backups, although there's a new improved version that's supposed to be better at de-duplicating the same data from multiple servers, so I'll probably upgrade to that sometime soon. At first, I'll do it in addition to my existing backups.

You mean another server, right? Not the primary server, right? I am still to do that. But, I guess, I should invest time in setting it up at the latest. Initially, I was planning to do this - have a local backup and one on the server itself. The local backup woudl then also be synced with something like Google Drive.

Thank you Chi for making me relieve the horrible experience I had using those pilers(?). I thought it was all behind me now but it appears it has come back from the grave to haunt me :( I still need to find a way to buy those automatic ones instead. I dont know if I can justify the price yet though given how little i acutally need to use them though.. The experience with these pliers were tramautic enough though that I might just need to do that...

Yeah thats what i was referring to a few posts up. This would've made my life 100x easier. Those junky tools cut my wire multiple times. This thing makes it look so easy.. would've saved me a bunch of headache and kept me with more lack in my line..
